Taylor GuitarsPatrick Girardin’s Webpage

My name is Patrick, welcome to my webpage. I’m currently a student at the University of Central Florida and also a musician. Although my main instrument now is the acoustic guitar, I also play the piano, bass, trumpet, drums and other percussion instruments. I do a lot of my own recording at home with my DIGI001 hard-disk based recording system. You can preview a few of my sketches here. Most of these are just sketches and are not complete, but I’m also working on a new cd right now.

And now for some information on Edgar Varese, the father of electronic music

Born in Paris in 1883, Edgar was a peer of Ferruccio Busoni (known as the prophet of electronic music). Varese moved to America in 1915, supporting himself with odd musical jobs such as conducting. Introducing the siren as a musical instrument (hyperprism 1924) to playing one of his final pieces Poeme Electronique (1958), which was played on over 450 speakers, Varese longed to bring new sounds to the music world. His death came in 1965, leaving behind a new world of electronic music.
