| No patience could ruin big plan
| June 9th, 2008 Hi Richard, "How is patience related to courage?" you may ask. There is a writing by Su Shi (蘇軾), titled as Liu Hou Lun (留侯論). It has a very good explanation. "All ancient heroes must have something better than normal people. Most people could not hold off from breaking their temper. When a fool gets insulted, he will pick up a weapon and start to fight. This behaviour is nowhere near what a brave person would do. A brave person of great courage would not be nervous when bad things suddenly happen. He would not be angry when someone accuses him with no reason. It is because he has a firm bearing on his long term goal and a greater ambition than others." Richard, don’t let the small things block your vision. We must act on purpose after thought, instead of blindly in response to instincts. Remember: having no patience on small things could ruin your big plan With love, Patrick |
