| The differences (君子與小人) | |||||||||||||
| February 19th, 2008 Hi Richard, The Confucius said, "Jun Zi (君子) work on things from themselves, the internal world. Xiao Ren (小人) work on things from others, the external world." "Jun Zi (君子) explain things by justice. Xiao Ren (小人) explain things by benefit." "Jun Zi (君子) feel peaceful but not arrogant. Xiao Ren (小人) are arrogant but not peaceful." "Jun Zi (君子) live with others in harmony and could bear others’ differences. Xiao Ren (小人) reject differences and could not live with others in harmony." "It is easy to work with Jun Zi (君子) but difficult to please them. If please them not in a proper way, they will not be happy. They employ others to assist their work. It is difficult to work with Xiao Ren (小人) but easy to please them. Even not in a proper way, they will be pleased. They employ others to take their blame." With love, Patrick |
