| This is our Calendar area. Each morning the children gather on the carpet and we choose a "Special Helper" to lead the calendar activities, including changing the date, counting the days, reading patterns, reciting the days of the week and months of the year, changing the weather and doing the daily tally. We also review Math concepts through our Calendar and use this time to sing songs and read poetry related to the Theme we are studying. |
| During Calendar time we also celebrate Classroom birthdays. |

| This is our classroom Carpet Area. It is right beside our Calendar. The class spends a great deal of time here reading stories, poems and sentences, and introducing math concepts in the blue pocket chart. |
