| CANADIAN CELTIC MUSIC- An excellent and regularly updated site maintained by a very nice and dedicated lass named Kimberley, this is a great place to learn about Canadian artists, as well as events and performances in both Canada and the USA. The site also features a very nice listing of performer web sites. A super-comprehensive site worthy of commendation! | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| CAPE BRETON MUSIC ONLINE- A site dedicated to all sorts of music deriving from Cape Breton Island. Provides an opportunity to subscribe to the free and informative Cape Breton music list. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| CELTIC COLOURS FESTIVAL- We're FINALLY, God willing, going to attend the Mecca that is the Cape Breton "Celtic Colours International Festival" in October! The festival, which runs for just over a week each October, is always chock-full of outstanding acts from throughout the Celtic music world, including many excellent Cape Breton performers. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| CELTIC MUSIC INTERPRETIVE CENTER- Situated in the heart of the Celtic music community in Judique, Cape Breton Island (see picture above), the center features an interpretive tour centered upon the Cape Breton style of Celtic music. We unfortunately couldn't catch a tour the day we were there, as one of their regularly scheduled instructional sessions was in progress (argh!). | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| CHARLIE'S DOWNHOME MUSIC- On our first trip to Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia we came across a little shack with a sign reading "Charlie's Country Music Store." The place is a treasure for Cape Breton and Canadian music, and is always on our itinerary when we're up in that neck of the woods. They even created a web page several years back, so fans like us can order from the friendly and informative folks at Charlie's! | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| CLAN MACLACHLAN'S SCOTTISH HIGHLAND GAMES AND CELTIC FESTIVALS LISTING- Provides a very nice listing of highland games and festivals, though it slants more towards highland games than music festivals. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| DIRTY LINEN- Baltimore based magazine focusing on folk and world music (including Celtic, of course!). Their web page maintains a very nice and up-to-date "gig guide" for many artists. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| MICK O'SHEA'S IRISH PUB- A Baltimore estabishment, their web page includes a performance calendar, which includes a little too much non-Celtic music at times! | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| MILWAUKEE IRISH FESTIVAL- We don't want to get into listing a million and one festivals, but this is one that stands out for their annual top-notch lineup and diversity of Celtic music styles. A great festival with many nice stages and a great location-- get there if you can! | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| MIKE LITTLE'S CB CHOICES.COM- The generous owner/author of this website recently contacted us to let us know of its existance. A terrific source for keeping up-to-date with what's happening on beautiful Cape Breton Island, and for CBI-related links. Thanks Mike! | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| MORE LINKS WILL BE ADDED AS WE FIND THEM. WE WILL NOT PROVIDE LINKS TO THE OODLES OF OUTDATED SITES THAT PLAGUE THE INTERNET! | ||||||||||||||||||||||
