Boeing Center - Everett.

(Click on the image above to visit the official site).

The world's largest building by volume - The Boeing's Everett center. where they manufacture, test & deliver the 747, 767, 777 aircrafts.

The building is so huge that each of these doors are as long as a football field. The distance from one side of the building to another is about 1.5 km.

About 5 full size 747s can fit in the 747 manufacturing area at ONE time. Besides this, in the same building, there are separate sections for the 777 & 767.

The building is 3 floors high (without the basement). There are no fans or heaters in the building still the average temperature inside remains at 65 deg F all throughout the year. Even in winter. The reason - there are enough number of people working inside it that they along with the equipment generate the required heat and if at sometime they do feel its getting too hot, they just open one of the doors!!!!

On each floor of the building, working simultanously work on different parts of the aircraft.

There are NO camera's allowed inside the complex. Hence, all the photos are taken from outside.

There is a one hour tour where they take you around the complete complex and the test site (small airport).

Seattle

Space Needle

Seattle Space Needle.

Seattle City.

Space Needle, EMP & adjoining area.

Rain is something that is VERY frequent in Seattle. I couldnt take many picture from the Needle coz it started raining while I was up there.

Check the road-ways.

Seattle City.

The 2 lines in the center are the Monrail tracks. Monrail is a ride from Seattle Center to West Lake.

Not seen in the photos is a beautiful snow capped mountain range, just behind the building. Can be seen on a clear sunny day.

Experience Music Project.

EMP - Experience Music Project.

http://www.emplive.com/

Experience Music Project (EMP) is an interactive music museum located in Seattle. Just next to the Needle.

They didnt allow me to take pictures in some parts of EMP.

The place had all the history about music. I was made to wear some equipment that could play the information about the item that I was looking at.

There was a place where one could generate music my moving hands around in thin air - I didnt try this one.. there was too much line...

Seattle Center.

Close to the Needle. A major center of attraction. The Monrail starts from this place.

Pacific Science Center.

The Pacific Science Center. You one full day to enjoy the whole place. There are different shows going one simultaneously in different parts of this center.

I went for the Titanic show.. it was a hr & half show.. got to see many of the Titanic articfacts that have been collected from the bottom of the ocean.

There is another show called the iMAX which is supposed to be anazing. It was 4.30PM by the time if finished Titanic.. the place closes at around 5.30-6.. so didnt have enough time to go for another show.

Inside PSC, there is a separate isolated place for butterflies. The whole place is kept warm - exactly the way the b'fly want it...

Since it was evening time.... not many b'flies were seen around.

Monorail.

Monorail.

WestLake - Monorail.

WestLake - Seattle.

Seattle - WestLake Park.

Pine Street - WestLake.

The whole street looks like some location in Europe.

Seattle Aquarium is supposed to be one of the best. But by the time I reached the place, it was already 6PM - the place was closed :'-(.

Adjoing is a picture of Seattle Museum.

Another well-known place in Seattle is Pike-Place. Its a market area. It is said that when some one buy a HUGE fish, the fisher men start singing some local song & they throw the fish at each other until it reaches one end & then back.

The market is also considered to be a center for florists.

Seattle still has tram service.
Seattle & surrounding area is mountainous in nature. It is not uncommon to see roads like in the adjoining picture.

Back to Lansing (via Chicago).

After Seattle "Darshan", I went back to TimberLawn Redmond. My flight from Tacoma was at 11.15PM. The plane was on time. Reached Chicago somewhere around 4.30AM local time.

Chicago - O'Hare

Actually not clearly seen in the picture is the train service that take passengers from one terminal to another.

My 7AM Lansing flight was cancelled.. Damm... was forced to take the 8.10 flight.

By this time, I was completely exhausted. Hadnt slept the entire night.. wanted to get back home asap.

It then turns out that the friend who was on his way to pick me up had a flat tyre & I had to spend another two frustrating hrs at Lansing's Capitol City Airport :'-(
