Square Foot Gardening Know- How

"Swing Your Weed Patch Round and Round, Plant Your Squares and Mulch Them Down!"

Well, doggies! Ain't you tired of fightin' your way through the brush with your machete any time y'all want a tomato? If'n y'all want more food, you need less garden! Spend your precious time with your loved ones, instead of your cultivatin' hoe. Have more good food for less work, in less space, with less water. Try you a itty-bitty patch - you can always go back to them long hours of back-breaking weeding if you really miss it. (I dont!)

Mel Bartholomew was a civil engineer. So when he saw a fine, proud, hopeful community garden turn into the worst cotton-picking, consarned mess you could imagine - he did what come natural-like. He designed him a garden that worked. That Square Foot Garden has been in books, on TV, on video, and even on the world-wide Web (www.squarefootgardening.com). It's worked for nigh on to 30 years now. Ain't no reason it won't work for you, too. So go ahead and let it. (Why should YOU do all the work?)

This here's where we'll corral all them fine topics. They mostly ain't there yet, but I'll move them in purty quick, I reckon. (Bet y'all heard that yarn before!):

Mel's Square-Foot Cage Build you one in minutes, for pennies - then have some fun.
The Patchwork Prairie Head on back to the bunkhouse here!

"A Square Foot Gardening" Members: This is the Seed List (marked, "Seed List") and the scrawled-down, sprawling site so-called "map" (remember how you had your first garden all planned out on paper, and then how it grew after you started the danged thing? Like that....):
