| What the Church Can Expect From Me |
| I guess another important thing a congregation may want to know is, "What are you expecting out of us preacher?" Just like the church is expecting certain things out of the pastor, so it should be with the pastor from the church. Every church that is in the hunt for another pastor SHOULDN'T expect the pastor they are looking for to carry the same agenda as the previous pastor. Maybe, just maybe the agenda that the board wants and demands is the reason why the last pastor left. Don't get upset, just an observation. Every man and woman of God has vision in their hearts. While churches may have basic programs each and every minister will bring a little something different to the table. I would not try to take away from already successful and proven programs that make the church effective. But I am a man of progression. I strongly believe that in order for there to be success or growth, there has to be progression. Everything is in a constant state of progression, if not, it's dead. Our churches should always be in a constant state of progression. With those thoughts in mind, let me tell you what the church can expect from me. Perfection - I am a perfectionist when it comes to the Lord and His work. I don't believe anything done for God should be done half way. I don't have any problems with putting on programs, or sponsoring something for the Lord, as long as you do the best that can be done. GOD DOESNT SPONSOR FAILURES! I just believe any thing that is associated with God, or bears the name of God, should look like God has touched it, or has a hand in it. So the church can expect a clean, and well-organized program and operation always professional in our presentation. Progression - WE ARE GOING SOMEWHERE! We will definitely be a church on the move. Our neighborhood, City, and State will eventually know who we are, and what we are all about. Our primary goal and mission, "Take the City for Jesus" (then eventually the state and nation). Outreach is a must! The name of our game will be outreach: If a church is not making a difference in it's community, it has lost its savor. WE WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE! Growth - When I say growth, I not only mean in numbers but in the Lord as well. Growth in numbers is no good if people are not growing in the Lord. At best all you will become is a very large social gathering. We will not seek to become the largest church, but rather an effective church. I will never be satisfied with just seeing the church or ministry do well. The ultimate goal is to see each and every member doing well and advancing in the Lord. This type of growth will always lead to ministry growth. So the church can expect me to implement programs design for Christian growth first, then ministry growth, for our desire is to reach the world. Outreach - If a church doesn't reach out, we have reneged on our commission. We should always endeavor to reach the lost anyway possible. I've had several years of radio broadcasting; hosting my own program entitled "The Simplicity of the Gospel Radio program." I'm a writer, author, and love to do desktop publishing; so I publish my own newsletters, and crusade flyers. I even do my own Internet web pages as you are witnessing. The church can expect me to bring a solid outreach program design to reach our City first, then state, nation, and world. Standard & Principle - The Church can expect me to be a man of standard and principle. Leading out by precept and example, both in faith and holy living. I'm a firm believer in walking the talk and talking the walk. I don't believe in bringing a reproach upon my God. If you are saved, and sanctified as they say, you aught to live the part. And just as I live the part, I will expect those on the administrative staff to live the same. Anointing & Prayer - Prayer is my "bread and butter" so to speak. It won't take the Church long to figure out that their pastor is a "praying man." My average prayer time daily is 2 to 4 hours. I love teaching on prayer! If there were any one thing that I may emphasize, it would be prayer. I'm a firm believer in "little prayer, little power, some prayer, some power, much prayer, much power!" Concerning the Anointing on my life and ministry, judge ye; I take it as my personal responsibility to make sure that I am always fresh with the anointing, for without it, I can do nothing. It is what makes effective ministry possible. Provocative Teaching and Preaching - We are both a teacher and preacher. My first love is teaching, and always will be. We preach more on the evangelist field then we do at home. For a sample of some of the writing and teaching that we do, click here. The Church can expect balanced teaching and preaching concerning relevant topics and issues that Believers are facing daily. Also strong prophetic words delivered under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost. Youth Oriented - One thing that God has really blessed our ministry with is the ability to reach both the old and young. Youth find our ministry just as refreshing and relevant as the adults. The church can expect me to always make sure the youth are being ministered to on their level as well as the adults. And to implement programs that meet them at their point of need. These are some of the things the church can expect out of me as pastor. There is much more as God has so gifted us to be multi-talented. I believe one of the greatest assets I would bring to the church is my wife. She is a very gifted and anointed singer who leads my praise in worship services not only at our church, but also when we are out running seminars and crusades. We both sing together and lead the praise service from time or time. She has a tremendous ministry of exhortation, and a very unique ministry to woman. I must give a lot of credit to my wife for really backing and supporting my ministry. Without her help, I know the ministry could not have been as successful as it has been. She is truly the "wind beneath my wings." |
