CHAPTER ONE
ORGANIZATIONAL IDENTITY AND STRUCTURE
- 1.1 ORGANIZATION'S NAME
- The ministry shall be called the Decatur Trinity Church of the Nazarene Youth Ministries (or Trinity Youth Ministries).
- 1.2 ORGANIZATIONAL AFFILIATIONS
- 1.2.1 Trinity Youth Ministries shall be an auxiliary of the Decatur (Illinois) Trinity Church of the Nazarene, operating under the oversight of the Local Church Board.
- 1.2.2 Trinity Youth Ministries shall also be a local chapter of the Nazarene Youth International (NYI) of the Church of the Nazarene.
- 1.3 ORGANIZATION'S CONSTITUTION
- The Constitution for Trinity Youth Ministries, being a chapter of the Nazarene Youth International of the Church of the Nazarene, shall be paragraph 810 of the current Manual of the Church of the Nazarene.
- 1.4 ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

- 1.4.1 Students
- The students, by virtue of voluntary participation in Trinity Youth Ministries, come under the guidance, oversight and care of the Ministry Staff (Youth Pastor, Sunday School Teachers, Program Directors and Sponsors.)
- 1.4.2 Sponsors
- Sponsors are charged with overseeing the behavior, participation and safety of the students as well as assisting the program directors. Program Directors overseeing the functions which the Sponsors assist in also oversee the Sponsors themselves.
- 1.4.3 Program Directors
- Program Directors organize and oversee specific ministry functions as well as the students participating in and the sponsors assisting in the functions. Program Directors in turn report to the Youth Council.
- 1.4.4 Sunday School Teachers
- Sunday School teachers oversee age group specific ministries, particularly the Sunday School small group functions and report to the Youth Council and the Sunday School Superintendent.
- 1.4.5 Youth Council
- The Youth Council, constituted by those members set out in section 5.3.2, exists to represent the needs and concerns of the students, their parents and the church at large in the planning and policy decisions of the youth group. The Youth Council oversees the work done by the Program Directors and Sunday School Teachers and is overseen by the Youth Pastor.
- 1.4.6 Youth Pastor
- The Youth Pastor is charged with oversight of every aspect of the youth ministry. The youth pastor is in turn overseen by the Church Board and the Senior Pastor.
