On the site where Laban Jenks established his trading post (in current Speedsville, NY) this gazebo was built to commemorate the founder of the hamlet. Laban sold the farm in Jenksville and purchased this land just north of his original settlement.

The gazebo was reconstructed in 2000, using some of the original gazebo parts.
