Welcome to Faerie Glen, this is the home of all things Magical.Faerie Glen,is the neighbour to Nonsuch, the home of the Gnomes, who are regular visitors here, along with all the children.

The Fishsim children visit the Faerie Glen whenever the Portal is open. The keeper of the Portal is Angel, and is delighted to welcome the Fishsim children and Gnomes, they spend the time catching up on new happenings in the Glen, playing, tending to the gardens, playing with the many creatures that inhabit the Glen, and listening to the music of Timmie Quaver, who along with the mystical and haunting music of the Faeries, is rather a fun time, with much dancing and merriment.

Adventures of the Fishsim children.

It all happened most unexpectedly, the children were busy helping the Faeries, the Gnomes were busy helping the children, and the Elves were busy helping the Gnomes, a friendly, in the way chaos, was the order of the day.... then it happened..... !!!

A dark cloud ominously covered the sun, everyone looked up in amazement... when all of a sudden.. the Bronze Dragon " Roary ", swooped down, and to everyone's surprise and horror grabbed Grin Greenhat who was busy tending his garden, and was unaware of impending disaster, and flew off, back to his Lair on the mountain. Everyone just stood around dazed unable to grasp what had just happened. Angel flew off to inform Princess Kadleen.....

The Rescue

When Princess Kadleen was given the news, she immediatley ordered Elves to fly to all the Gnome Clans, to summon aid, meanwhile rescue parties were organized in Faerie Glen. For safety the children were returned through the Portal, until Grin Greenhats safe return...

Once the Gnomes arrived, plans were made for the rescue of Grin, and the rescuers set off with grim determination. It would have taken many day's to reach Roary's Lair, but the Elves and Fairies had constructed carry bags for the Gnomes, and each Elf and Fairy had a passenger, so they soon arrived..

They scaled the last part of the dark forbidding mountain in silence for fear of awaking Roary, and to give them the element of surprise, as they knew Roary would have feasted well, and would be sleeping it off. As luck would have it, this was the case, puffs of smoke emanated from Roary's nostrils as he lay in a deep sleep. They set about tying Roary up, and keeping him held by an immobiliser spell, and set about rescuing Grin Greenhat, who as anyone can imagine was happy to be alive and to be rescued.

He was immediatly transported back to Faerie Glen, whilst the others set about waking Roary... whose surprised look would have had them rolling in fits of laughter had the circumstances been different. The Elves and Gnomes looked on with angry scowls on their faces and demanded to know why Grin had been taken, what followed next had them stunned into amazement, for Roary, the big fierce Dragon began to sob uncontrollably, eventually he told them " why " he had taken Grin, he was lonely and had no friends, and just wanted company for a few day's,and was planning on returning Grin, safe and well.

It was decided by all, that if Roary behaved, word would be got back to him, once Princess Kadleen had been informed and her decision made as to what was to happen next, with this they all left for home, leaving behind a very chastened Roary....

The Rescue of Digger Dimpleseed

It was one of those mornings, you know the kind I mean ?, one where you sense that all is not at rights with the world, and that something foreboding is about to take place. The Faeries were staying close to their tree's, even the growing fields and gardens were empty, as the Gnomes busied themselves around their homes, even the usually melodic chords of the music was quiet.

It began underfoot, a trembling of the earth, faintly at first, but rising to a deafening crescendo in the direction of the mines.Everyone rushed to the mines to find a giant boulder blocking the entrance to the mine, trapping Digger Dimpleseed and his crew inside.

The Princess Kadleen and Angel were quickly on scene, and decided to confer with wise old Simon Seafar for his advice. It was decided that the help of the Ogres and Trolls were required, the strength of the Ogres and the untiring tenacity of the Trolls would soon move this giant monolith that was entombing Digger Dimpleseed and his crew.

Realising this would take time, some of the Fishim children, Brooke,Jake, Michael, Katy, Corey, Sigourney, Ellanna and others decided to make a start on removing some of the smaller rocks, and to create a harness to the giant boulder leaving two long lengths of rope trailing ready for the pulling that would soon take place. Suddenly the stamp of feet marching in time vibrated the ground, just as the sun rose overhead the Ogres and Trolls were sighted, led by Phaba and Deedip, a most welcome sight for the waiting crowd.

Wasting no time they grabbed the lengths of rope, made by the Fishsim children and started pulling with all of their strength. Inch by inch the huge boulder started to move, until the entrance to the mine was at last visible, waiting at the entrance was Digger Dimpleseed and his crew, safe and unharmed, with beaming smiles on all their faces.

There would be much celebrating and merriment in Faerie Glen this night. Princess Kadleen and Angel gave hearty thanks to the Ogres and Trolls for their help and assistance and invited them to join in with the celebrations... even Roary had redeemed himself. Later that night when the Trolls and Ogres had departed, thoughts of a new and binding friendship between the folk of the Glen and with the Trolls and Ogres seemed at last possible.

Pay back time

The Fishsim children, decided it was time to get their own back on Deedip and Phaba, every time the pair hit town a noisy ruckus always ensued, so they all met up in their "secret place " in Faerie Glen and hatched a plan. They decided to use their "secret call " to Roary, and let him in on the plan and to get any help that they could. Roary finally alighted close by and asked the children what was wrong, they explained what they wanted to do, and Roary was all for a bit of fun and agreed to help in anyway he could.

It was finally agreed, that Roary and one of the Fishsim children would fly to the "Old Hag" for a potion. Now "Old Hag", well it was best if you caught her in a good mood, so Roary said he would approach her first, to see what kind of mood she was in. All was well, and he explained what they wanted to do, she agreed to make a potion, that when sprinkled near to Deedip and Phaba, it would make them think that they were being attacked by loads of nasty insects.

The potion was brought back to Faerie Glen, and the children, lay in wait in near by bushes, and waited for Deedip and Phaba, to leave their current place of merrymaking. All of the young Gnomes and Faeries had been let into the plan and excitement was hard to contain, eventually Deedip and Phaba could be heard singing quite noisily as they made their way back home. The children waited until they had passed, and crept up behind sprinkling the potion at them, two new friends Amy and Gareth, lay in wait in a small tree and were happily sprinkling their contents over Deedip and Phaba as they went by.

What followed was so comical, Deedip and Phaba started thrashing wildly and jumping up and down, but to any onlookers there was nothing to see... The children were doubled up in laughter to see the pair dancing wildly around, even Roary had a hard time containing himself. Luckily for the pair the potion only lasted a short while, and the children decided that the plan had worked well on the two rather noisy revellers, still laughing amongst themselves, they thanked Roary, and returned to Faerie Glen..

Mystic Lake

When the fishsim children returned, and told the Faeries and Gnomes of their discovery, a meeting was called by Princess Kadleen and the Gnome community " chiefs ", to see if there was some way that they could provide regular help for the Mystic Lake Island.

A special saddle arrangement was made to fit onto Roary's back, and he was duly dispatched carrying Anjos, as a representative for the Gnomes and Angel for the Faerie Folk. They were to consult with The Wise Old Tree to see if he would welcome help, also to the setting up of a community on the Island.

The Wise Old Tree was delighted to see them, after the initial shock of seeing Roary that is, and he welcomed the news of a community being started and of regular supplies of Sprinkledust, also, hopefully a ways and means of ridding the Mystic Lake of the dreadful Gliafids. With Roary's regular visits, hopefully this would give the Gliafids something to think about in future destructive raids.

Anjos Angel and Roary duly returned to Faerie Glen to give the welcome news to Princess Kadleen and the Gnomes. Preparations were made for the first trip back, a boat would be constructed and The Wise Old Tree had told them that the boat would find it's own way to the Island once it reached a certain point in the Mystic Lake, as this was where his powers started............

All Aboard

Gnomes Faeries and Elves excitedly boarded " Mist Weaver " under the eagle eye of Captain Allatsea, in preparation for the trip to Mystic Isle and the founding of a new Colony, which had been decided would not be divided, but a shared community.

Stores, belongings and other essentials were finally safely stowed and Captain Allatsea gave the command to set sail, amidst much waving and cheering. Anjos and his Dragon Nesproon, along with Roary were already airborne ready to follow and keep an eye out for possible trouble from marauding Gliafids.

There was much excited talk about the forthcoming adventure, two Faeries, Te-Tyn and YL-NN were discussing their crafts,Te-Tyn in design and YL-NN in needlecraft, a friendship soon formed and they agreed to form a partnership once they had settled in on Mystic Isle.

Anjos and Nesproon swooped and dived around the ship, sweeping low, much to the delight of all aboard, it was not long before the others came to realise, amid faerie tinkling laughter, that he seemed to be trying to impress one particular sylph like Faerie called Seret, who coyly returned his smiles. Was this a new romance in the making ?.

In the distance could be seen Mystic Lake, Captain Allatsea gave the order to lower sails as instructed ready for the powers of " The Wise Old Oak Tree " to take over and guide them in. It was not long before the ship came to anchor and the start of a new Colony....

At the Portal Gates

Deedip Phaba and Angel had been defending the Portal gates for hours against the hordes, but even their mighty strength was at a low ebb. Although Angel was a warrior in her own right her main concern was the Portal, thus she was more than pleased to have the company, strength and fighting prowess of Phaba and Deedip close at hand.

On the battlements the Fishsim children's supply of Sparkledust was getting dangerously low, still the hordes came on, driven by the relentless Sloth-Glom, curses ringing down on the Gliafids to push further forward in his madness to destroy the magic and Gnomeland which he hated and feared.

Princess Kadleen and Angel were huddled together discussing the dwindling resources, when they heard a triumphant yell from the defenders.

A " booming " voice inside their heads saying " Fear not, we are close by", this gave them new strength to carry on until they arrived. The Gliafid attack wavered for they too had heard Nesproons " voice ". At first, all that could be seen were three dots in the distance, all of a sudden the plain erupted into a sheet of flame.

Swooping and diving in an amazing display of aerial agility by the Dragons the foe was soon vanquished except for a small group of acolytes surrounding Sloth-Glom. The battle for the Portal was over but the duel was still to come.....

The Duel

He strode out to the centre of the amphitheatre type clearing and called in a high clear voice for Sloth-Glom. Kett-Rocc had waited for, what seemed to him an eternity for this moment to arrive, a tingle of apprehension or maybe anticipation coursed down his spine, today would be the end of him or Sloth-Glom.

What was between the two old foes, no-one knew for Kett-Rocc spoke of his past to no-one, he called again for Sloth-Glom, suddenly the skies began to darken, lightening flashed and the thunder rolled as Sloth-Glom, like an insidious worm made his appearence, the onlookers gasped at the forbidding sight that had appeared before them. They knew that today only one would survive, they wished fervently that it would be Kett-Rocc.

Sloth-Glom looked at his arch enemy with a sneering leer, hissing abuse in the hope of unsettling him, Kett-Rocc reached behind him and withdrew a staff that glowed with a strange eerie light. Sloth-Glom stepped back, fear and terror passing quickly over his features, how had the DragonRider got hold of this MageStaff, he had seen it once before but not in those hands and new of it's powers.

Sloth-Glom sent a bolt of sizzling energy at Kett-Rocc whilst surrounding himself with a protective sphere, Kett-Rocc avoided this with ease and aimed the MageStaff sending a hissing crackling bolt at Sloth-Glom. Time and time again the adversary's aimed and fired moving with a deadly grace that was frightening to behold, Kett-Rocc advanced slowly, nearer and nearer with a cold hard look in his eyes.

He pointed the MageStaff at Sloth-Glom, a bolt of pure white energy went hissing and crackling towards Sloth-Glom hitting him in the centre of his forehead. He reeled back mortally wounded and seemed to shrivel where he stood smoke curling enticingly around him sinking and fading until nothing remained except one claw. Kett-Rocc stooped and picked up the claw, this he would keep, as he turned the sky brightened into a warm inviting glow. He walked over to Angel and Princess Kadleen bowing with a fluid grace, his task was complete the lands were now safe and the prophesies of old would now come to pass.

Princess Kadleen had a new task for Kett-Rocc, he was to be the guardian and friend of the one yet to be born, this he accepted with honour. The waiting crowd moved forward cheering loudly, still rather cautious in their approach to this aloof silent DragonRider, suddenly he turned and faced the crowd holding the MageStaff aloft a slow infectious smile appearing on his face. With this the crowd went wild, cheering, calling his name, he knew his return had been a wise decision and looked forward to being a part of his birth home again.
