SENIOR OLYMPICS
HEADQUARTERS
Headquarters for the Pasadena Senior Olympics is the Pasadena
Senior Center located at 85 East Holly Street. PSC is at the corner
of Holly and Raymond in Old Pasadena. Parking is available in the
structure at the corner of Holly Street and Arroyo Parkway.

HOUSING INFORMATION
The Courtyard by Marriott is the recommended hotel for
the Games. The hotel is offering a rate of $89 - $119 (single
or double) per night. Amenities include in-room coffee, a heated
outdoor pool, valet parking and an exercise room. You must make
your reservations on eweek in advance of your stay. The Courtyard
is located at 180 North Fair Oaks Ave.; (626) 403-7600.
The Saga Motor Inn, 1633 E. Colorado Blvd.,
will serve as the host motel. Special rates of $69.00 (double or
king) are being offered to Senior Olympic participants and their
families. A Continental Breakfast and free parking are
included. Please call (626) 795-0431 for reservations.
You must mention that you are with Senior Olympics
to receive the above special rates which are based upon
availability.
TRANSPORTATION
Southwest Airlines is the official airline
of the Pasadena Senior Olympics. Southwest is offering a 10% discount
on most of its already low fares for travel to and from the 2002 Games.
Call the Southwest Airlines Group and Meeting Desk at (800) 433-5368,
Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 8:30 a.m.
- 5:30 p.m. no later than five (5) days prior to the first date of travel
and refer to ID Code P0168 to take advantage of this offer.
Participants must provide their own transportation to and
from the various events.
CELEBRATION OF ATHLETES
The festivities begin with the Celebration of Athletes on Saturday,
June 14 at 6 p.m. at the Pasadena Senior Center. The Celebration
will hail the athletes and commemorate the official kick-off
of the 11th Annual Pasadena Senior Olympics. Dinner, entertainment
by The Tap Chicks and dancing to the music of The Memory Laners
will follow. The cost of this event is $8.00 for athletes and
family members. Please indicate on your Entry Application if
you will be attending.
GRANDPARENT/GRANDCHILD
FUN WALK
Bring a "young" friend and join us on Saturday, June 21 for
the 5K Fun Run/Walk at 9 a.m. around the Rose Bowl. A continental
breakfast and sponsor booths will add to the event. The cost
is $5.00 if not participateing in another sport. Includes all
the amenities.
CLOSING CEREMONIES
Bar-B-Que hamburgers and hot dogs will be served and Pam Kay
and her strolling Banjo will provide entertainment.
CALIFORNIA
SENIOR GAMES CHAMPIONSHIPS - 2004
Your participation in
the Pasadena Senior Olympics automatically qualifies you to enter the
California Senior Games Championships to be held in Pasadena in June
2004. You may enter any sport or event you wish at the State Championships.
This State Championship competition meet will be the only qualifying
Senior Games site in California for the 2005 National Senior Games
in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania.
