RULES
All competitions will be conducted in accordance with the rules
established by each sports federation, as modified by the NSGA
and the PSO. Copies of the rules and formats to be used will
be sent to you in your Confirmation Packet. You are asked to
familiarize yourself with them prior to competition.
EQUIPMENT
Participants are responsible for supplying their own equipment
unless otherwise noted. Please be sure to mark your personal items
and do not leave valuables unattended.
UNIFORMS
All athletes must wear the athletic-type clothing and shoes
usual and customary for the sport(s) in which they are competing.
Team sports require like color and style numbered uniforms.
Clothing and shoes which are inappropriate may cause
disqualification. Athletic Coordinators have been given
authorization to make this determination.
SPORTSMANSHIP/CONDUCT
Unsportsmanlike conduct on the part of any competitor, coach,
or spectator will not be condoned by the Senior Olympics officials.
Conduct of this nature is not in the spirit of the Games and may
result in immediate disqualification and removal from competition.
PROTEST POLICY
An athlete desiring to protest any aspect of a competition
shall do so to the Athletic Coordinator at the time of the
occurrence. Protests may be oral or written. The Coordinator will
evaluate the protest and render a decision. All decisions are final
and not subject to further appeal.
AWARDS
Medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
place winners in each event and age division. Ribbons will be
given to the 4th, 5th, and 6th place finishers. Team trophies will
be awarded in the Softball Tournament. Special awards will be
given to all participants in the Swimming and Track & Field
Grandparent/Grandchild Relays. Awards will be presented at the
completion of each event by the Athletic Coordinator(s).
