| Stock The Kitchen Activity In the invitation send a blank recipe card and have the guest write down their favorite recipe and bring it to the shower. On the invitation give each guest a meal. Their job is to write their favorite recipe and bring what was needed to make the dish. Some ideas are appetizers, snacks, beverages, breads, cakes, desserts, cookies, eggs, pasta, fish, salads, main course, soups, etc. This is a great way to help a new bride build up her kitchen. Bake a Cake Activity Find your favorite cake recipe. On a silver or gold star plate supply the bride with all the ingredients to make the cake, but dont tell her the quantities needed. In a large mixing bowl have the bride-to-be guess the quantity of each ingredient needed to make a delicious cake. Bake the cake according to directions (or ask bride-to-be what temperature and how long the cake should bake). Serve the cake when done and let the guests decide how accurate she was. Spice Rack Game Take about 10 different spices that you can find in the kitchen and cover their labels with paper. Number each bottle. Be sure to write down which spice goes with which number. Place the bottles on a star plate and pass it around to the guests. The guests then try to guess what spice is in each bottle and write it down. They can smell and look at the spice but can not taste it. After everyone has seen the bottles and guessed, then read the answers. The person who has the most spices correct is declared the winner. Between games have each guest share their worst cooking disaster. |
| Oldywed Game Have the men leave the room and answer 5 questions like: *whos your favorite movie star *when was your last fight *whats your most embarrassing moment *whats your worst habit *when did you meet Have the women answer the same questions regarding their husbands. Repeat with the women. The couple with the most answers correct wins a prize. ID Hubby Have a bed sheet hanging in the party room. Have the men stand behind the sheet. Have them roll up their pants and take off their shoes and socks. Lift sheet revealing just the feet and see if the women can pick their hubby out of the line up (assign each man a number and say "contestant #1 wiggle your toes") Coed Construction Party If the couple is moving into a new home, its fun to center the activities around the construction theme. Include a child size tool belt with the invitations. This will make the men actually excited to come to the shower! Bring a wheelbarrow inside to place the gifts in. Purchase an assortment of tools from your local hardware store. Pick some very obscure ones. Have both the men and women guess what the tool is used for. |

| Romantic Grand Entrance Create a wedding "canopy" in your entryway with crepe streamers. Attach the streamers to the center of the ceiling and "drape" each side toward the door. Or, if you have walls on both sides, loop and attach each side of the streamer to the top of the wall, then let the remaining flow down toward the floor. Have a small table set up with a keepsake registry (available with each theme) and pen so everyone can sign in as they arrive. In the Party Room Make several Balloon Clusters. (Click Here for directions) Hang a wedding banner over the area where the "bride-to-be" will be sitting. Attach Balloon Clusters on both ends of the banner making sure to have lots of curled ribbon hanging from the clusters. For a very romantic feel, fill the room with Pastel Pearl balloons in White or Ivory. For a sweet, romantic touch, make bows using 2-4" ribbon and add single flowers to the center of each bow and tie them around the room. |

| Banquet / Dessert Table Cover the table with a White, Vanilla Cream, or other corresponding color tablecover. Sprinkle confetti all over the table (available with each theme). As a centerpiece, make a "towel cake" in the wedding colors, to be given as a gift at the end of the party. You Will Need: 1 washcloth, 1 hand towel, & 1 bath towel Fold each towel lengthwise into thirds. Now you must roll each towel and secure the ends with small safety pins. Using a large, round doily for the base, set the large bath towel on top and secure with hidden pins or tape. Next, add the hand towel, and then the washcloth to the top, securing with pins. Loop ribbon and small bows, or flowers, around the layers to make "icing," and secure with pins. Now you may top the cake off with a bride and groom figure. If you plan on a meal, use place cards (available with each theme) to designate where guests should sit. Fill tulle bags with candies and place at each setting.
