Sons of Thunder
Jack is picking up a prisoner (Jamie McLeod) a few miles outside of town. Marshal Findlay is
turning him over to Jack, who will turn him over to Bennett. As Craddock approaches, Findlay
comments"Look at that lazy oaf."
Findlay tells Jack the prisoner is charged with eight counts of horse thievin', cattle rustlin', and
highway robbery. McLeod tells Craddock that Findlay called him a lazy oaf.
Jack signs the release form and tells Findlay to uncuff the prisoner, but McLeod has already
gotten out of the cuffs and passes them to Findlay.
Craddock ties McLeod's hands... takes out his pistol; "Don't give me cause ta use this."
McLeod laughs,"Let's ride.. you lazy oaf."
"You know, we're brothers marshal.
You're John and I'm James."
"The name's Jack."
"Don't you know your Bible brother? John and James were the sons of Thunder.
I'll call you Thundercloud, you call me Thunderbolt."
Jack realizes they are being trailed by two hombres. One of them introduces himself as
Horace Cole. They want the prisoner to be tried in the U.S. for his crimes. Cole tells Jack that this
half-breed sullied the honour of a woman, his woman, Colleen Murray. He tries to bribe Jack,
who tells them they have 'til the count of three to disappear.
"One, two, (they ride off), three." Jack shoots into the air.
Craddock yells after them "I don't wanna see that rabbit grin 'a yers again unless it's turnin' on
a spit!"
They come upon some woman's clothes hanging in the bushes. A woman is heard humming,
It appears she is bathing. Jack gets off his horse and tells McLeod,"I'll let her know we're
comin' through."
He sticks his head through the bushes, "S'cuse me ma'am, ma'am?"
Jamie's girlfriend Colleen, whacks him across the forehead with a stick.
Jamie and Colleen ride off together.
When Jack comes to he is groggy. With blood dripping from his forehead and no boots on his
feet, he realizes his horse has been stolen, so he staggers to catch the mule.
Craddock sneaks up on Colleen, grabs her, she bites him.
"Where is he!?"
"He's gone, he promised to marry me but he lied!"
"I met yer other beau, Horace Cole, you can't half pick 'em lady, a rattlesnake and a thief!"
Jack leaves Colleen the mule & takes her horse,"You aren't going to hurt him are you marshal?"
"Not before I kill 'im."
Before long Jack catches McLeod. Knocking him from his horse, "All right Thunder Boy,
Lightnin' bug, Coyote, what ever yer name is, where's my boots?!"
McLeod tells Jack he threw his boots away, they were no good. So Jack takes HIS boots.
"You married brother?" McLeod asks.
"Nope, and I ain't yer brother."
Jack hears a noise in the bushes, takes his gun from it's holster, "Miss Murray, is that you?"
She answers "Yes"
The hombres have Colleen, and now they want to hang McLeod. Jack distracts them
while McLeod loosens the ropes tying his hands.
McLeod's hands are free and he slips the noose over his head and rides off.
Cole and his partner decide not to waste a good noose, they will hang the marshal instead.
"Come on in then, and no tricks."
Cole's buddy hits the marshal on the back of the head, knocking him out.
Jack sets up camp and prepares lunch.
