| An outlaw gang kills two drovers outside of Bordertown and steal their horses. The leader, Charlie |
| Loader, tells Bull (Colter) to go to town and kill the marshal (meaning Bat Masterson). |
| Marie and Willie witness the gunfight (which leaves Colter dead) ... |
| Marie and Willie explain that the stranger was acting in self defense. |
| Clive finds the bodies of the drovers and |
| returns to Bordertown with the "hard riden" |
| horses that belonged to the gang. |
| "The crime occurred in Canada, it's my problem". |
| Marshal Craddock smoothes things over. |
| "Hang on Bat, much as it pains me.... |
| So before we loose all trace of brotherly love |
| what say we all three go after 'em huh?" |
| SO.. they go trackin' the remaining ombres. |
| that the gang is long gone. When in fact, he knows they are heading into an ambush. |
| Jack gets shot! Fortunately he says he's "done worse shavin'." |
| Bat comes back and flanks the ombres, killing two of them. |
| Masterson wants to take the prisoner with him,Clive tells him he has no authority in Canada. |
| Taking the reins of the prisoner's horse, Jack states.."Fact is Bat, you're in Canada now and I'm |
| takin' the prisoner back, see the corporal here deputized me." |
| Jack warns Clive that Bat Masterson will not leave |
| town without his prisoner. "One of us should be |
| here at all times". |
| As Jack heads off to get some grub, he turns in the doorway, "Word has it that Masterson |
| killed 27 ombres, keep your sidearm on the desk, not in your holster." |
| (Clive takes first watch) |
| "Thanks for the vote of confidence Jack." |
| Jack comes running at the sound of gunfire.. |
| "Hold it right there mister!" |
| Jack recognizes the stranger and introduces |
| Marie and Willie to the famous lawman... |
| Bat Masterson. |
| Meanwhile.... |
| Bat has been tracking the outlaws...and he and Clive argue over jurisdiction. |
| the corporal has a point... |
| Masterson tells Craddock he wants these men... |
| they killed two of his deputies. |
| Bat leaves Jack and Clive after a short spell...saying |
| Clive arrests the third man. |
| Seeing the mountie is in over his head, Jack butts in..."Deputize me Clive." |
| "Done." |
| (Masterson is very angry) |
