| (In the saloon, Jack has words with Bat). Masterson is telling the other patrons how he saved the |
| mountie and the marshal. |
| "That ain't how I remember it." |
| Three mounties arrive in Bordertown to escort the prisoner (Charlie Loader) back to Fort Benton. |
| The marshal has his turn to stand watch over the prisoner. In the morning it appears Bat has left |
| In the meantime...Bat Masterson ambushes the mounties and takes the prisoner. |
| (They find Loader shot dead, Masterson is gone). |
| "How does a man like him get to be Sheriff, Jack?" |
| "Truth is Clive, he's just a man who's startin' to believe |
| in his own legend." |
| As the lawmen walk past Willie, he mimics Bat Masterson, and draws on his friends. |
| town...Jack suspects he's up to something. |
| Clive tells them not to stop until they reach the fort. |
| Marie snubs the lawmen as she passes by.... |
| They later find out that she is angry at Clive for |
| allowing a man like Bat to pass into Canada. |
| Jack and Clive mount up... |
| Back in town, Marie apologizes for her behavior. |
| Clive wonders...... |
