Devil's Right Hand (continued)
"How long you going to follow him Jack?"
"Fer as long as it takes."
"How do you know it was him?"
"I gotta do this on my own."
"He ran when he heard my family name."
As night falls, the two compadres have set up camp. Clive catches Jack trying to sneak away.
Craddock knocks him out, he looks down at an unconcious Clive:
"Sorry 'bout that compadre...but I gotta go it alone from here."
Clive finds Jack by the campfire sitting watch over his father's killer, who is still unconcious.
"You can arrest me in a minute" Jack tells him.
"I think I owe you enough to stretch the rules a bit."
"Look! Just leave me be - back off!"
" I shoulda known old Lucas would catch up with me...
you must be his boy, you look just like him. Old Lucas and me rode together for a time, we took

"Yer a liar!"
kill me 'cause I was cuttin' into his profits... It was a fair fight...I killed him."
"Go on, do it! Make yer daddy proud...
Jack tells the ombre to get out of his sight. "Go on, get outta here!"
As the killer rides off, Jack asks; "Was there anything good about 'im?"
"Ya, he didn't want you to know what he'd become."
"Quite a bloodline ain't it? Son of a thief n' a murderer."
"Been carryin' these lies in my pocket nearly 30 years now, go ahead...read it."
"Son, I have to go away for awhile. There is an opportunity for me to make this family rich.
I know you'll do me proud."
"Let me go with you Jack." Clive asks.
Craddock is dizzy and bleeding from his forehead
as Clive watches him mount his horse and ride off.
"Jus' leave me be Clive."
Ignoring his friend's request, Clive quickly catches up to him.
Craddock catches up with his Pa's killer and jumps him...knocking him from his horse.
As night falls again...
Jack forces the man to his knees and points his gun at his face.
Jack and Clive sit by the fire...
Jack reaches in his pocket and passes Clive a letter.
...I don't know how long I'll be...but be brave son and take care of your mother.
At daylight:
"No, I think I'll stick around and see what you're made of."
The hombre comes to and Jack questions him
about the gunbelt.
...pull the trigger!"
Clive reads the letter aloud.
