All For One (continued)
Marie is looking for advice, she hesitates as she walks up the steps of Jack's cabin.
"Tarnation Marie, there ain't much point 'a knockin' if yer just gonna walk right in!"
As Jack dresses she tells him Clive has proposed.
"Nothing yet."
"You know it looks good for a mountie to have a wife when he's promoted."
"Do you think that's all it is Jack?"
"Could be. What'da tell 'im?"
"I know this ain't the best time, but I can't think of a better one."
He grabs Marie and kisses her.
The door opens and Clive walks in "Hey Jack, you'll never guess..."
Bennett leaves and Jack tells Marie, "Look if ya don't wanna marry Clive, I'm always here,
n' I don't need no excuse ta marry you."
Meanwhile: Rawson is having something done at the livery stable, he pays Otto, then turns to
Wendell and invites him to have lunch in the saloon.
When Jack walks into the detachment (dressed in his finest duds), Clive confronts him.
"What were you doing with her Jack?!"
"Ain't none of yer affair Bennett."
"I said what were you doing with her."
"I think you know."
The two lawmen exchange insults and punches. Wendell McWherter rushes in "The bank's
been robbed.!"
Wendall is very upset. "I signed a note, I have to replace his $10,000!"
Bennett & Craddock put their differences aside for a brief moment and head to the bank.
Clive & Jack argue as they leave the bank; "Stay out of it Bennett. Look from now on I'll handle
"I'm not letting an illiterate make a fool out of me!"
"Grow up Bennett, name callin' don't become ya."
my territory, you handle yours!"
"Well who's going to help you solve the robbery if I do that?"
"When you say yer leavin?"
"Marie and I will be leaving by the end of the week."
"In yer dreams Bennett!"
Marie hears the conversation from the step of the store. Sadly she turns and goes inside.
Clive is investigating the robbery by questioning Otto. He shows the mountie the money Rawson
paid him with. Clive asks to borrow it.
He meets Jack on the street and holds up the money. "I need to show this to McWherter."
"I'm gettin' sick and tired of you speakin' down ta me!"
Suddenly they are both aware that Marie is within hearing distance. Clive smiles at Jack ;
"Okay, we'll both show it to him."
Wendell tells them the money is counterfit.
"Huh?"
"It's fake Jack." the mountie replies with a smug look.
So now they know Rawson had set Wendell up with the counterfit money, so he would have to
replace it with real money. Wendell tells the lawmen that Rawson is at the store.
Looks Like Marie is in trouble again compadres!
She knocks, then quickly walks in...catching Jack in his combinations.
He stops in mid sentence when he sees them kissing.
"Jack...this isn't fair."
