All For One (continued)
Jack walks into the general store and confronts Rawson. Marie is working behind the counter...
"How are you plannin' to pay for that? With fake money?"
Rawson grabs Marie and tells the marshal to drop his gun. Jack obliges.
The corporal sneaks in the backway. A gunfight takes place, Rawson is killed, Marie is wounded.
The boys rush Marie home, where Sally tends to her wounds.
When Sally finally comes downstairs, Clive insists "We want to see Marie."
Jack paces in the sitting room... "I mighta killed her."
"We don't know who's bullet it was Jack."
Jack wonders "How ya doin' Marie?"
Clive tells her "I'm sorry Marie - we both are."
"I'll live." she smiles. "This is very hard for me to say.......to both of you. But my answer is no."
Jack sheepishly looks at Clive; "I guess some day the best man'll win."
Marie tells them this is not about the best man, it's about her husbands memory. "When I
married Jacques I thought it would be forever, I don't know if I will ever be ready to take that
chance again."
They both have very long faces. Clive asks Marie; "Would you like US to leave you alone?"
"No I wouldn't like that at all."
The shows ends with Jack, Marie and Clive walking down the street, arm in arm.
She allows them to go upstairs to Marie's bedroom.
