LOS FLAMING COOL ARROWS is a multi-cultural, bi-lingual musical group born out of a jam session on New Mexico's Anton Chico Land Grant in spring, 1996. LOS FLAMING COOL ARROWS combines Norteno and Hispanic folk styles, rock-n- roll, ranchera, country, reggae, R&B and salsa standards and originals to create its own unique sound. Whether you prefer to listen or dance, LOS FLAMING COOL ARROWS is the band for you.
The band has performed at a wide variety of venues including New Mexico Highlands University, The Las Vegas People's Fair, the Flores Family Reunion, the Pecos Bar in Santa Rosa and The First Annual End of the World Party in Anton Chico.
LOS FLAMING COOL ARROWS is currently at work on its first CD.
Lead singer and rhythm guitarist CABIN LANCE is well known in central New Mexico as a folk-singer/songwriter and was a member of several popular rock-n-roll bands including "F.O.R.," "Illegal Aliens" and, most recently, "See The Bunnies." He has organized and performed in benefit concerts for the homeless, Viet vets and other social causes. Cabin is the primary song writer for LOS FLAMING COOL ARROWS and his lyrics add a depth of meaning and an intensity of feeling to the band's repertoire.
Lead guitarist, singer and songwriter ART ROMERO also plays bass and guitar with his father, Art Senior's traditional Chicano band "Grupo Ilusion." In addition to his father, Art's influences include Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton, Jerry Garcia and his fiddle playing grandfather.
Bass player, singer and songwriter ALEX ROMERO occasionally plays keyboards with LOS FLAMING COOL ARROWS and also plays rhythm guitar behind his brother and father in "Grupo Ilusion." Besides his family, Alex considers the Doors a major source of inspiration.
Drummer JOHN HENRY SMITH rounds out the band. He has been a member of several other bands including "The Mumphries," "Pheromones" and, with Cabin, "See The Bunnies."
Cabin sometimes performs with Thom Parrott.
