We are looking for someone with prior experience with parrots to adopt Batsy. We want to make sure that she goes to a home that knows and understands the work and dedication that is involved in owning one.
If you do not have previous experience with parrots, we recommend that you do tons of research and volunteer at a local bird rescue before getting one. Parrots are NOT animals that you can only care for and play with when you want to. They take a lot of time and dedication. For example....we spend AT THE VERY LEAST one hour EVERYDAY caring for Batsy. This includes: feeding, cleaning (cage, playstands, etc.), shower and out-of-cage playtime. This doesn't include the time it takes to cook her mash and cutting fruits and vegetables for the week. If you are not prepared to provide that much time and work into caring for a parrot then maybe a parrot isn't for you! |
