My life in the Air Force started on the 2nd of November 1994, straight out of high school. I went were all Air Force hopefuls go, Lackland A.F.B. Texas. There I learned the skills I needed to succeed in the Air Force. I will admit it's not as hard as the other services, but considering the differences in the jobs, it met it's objection.
After basic training, I went to the other side of Lackland, an area called Medena, and started my technical school for basic electronics. I was there for a total of three months learning all there was to learn about electronic circuits and how everything inside the circuit worked.
When I was finished with electronic principles, I moved on to Sheppard A.F.B. in Witchata Falls, which is still in Texas. There I learned about the flight control system on the F-15 Eagle. I also learned about the flight essential instruments and fuel quantity system. All this took four months to go through, but it was well worth it.
Finally out of school, I was assigned to my first duty station, Tyndall A.F.B. Florida. I was stationed their from June 1995 to February 1999. It wasn't a bad assignment but it was time to move on. While I was there I sewed on my first strip which was senior airmen (E-4) (I came in with two strips), just one of the advantages of JROTC. I also joined the base honor guard in 1996. While I was there I restructured the Honor Guard to meet the Air Force Honor Guard's requirements and won the "Honor Guard Member of the Year" twice during my tenuir. The first time I won the award was the first year assigned and the second was on the third year assigned.
Even as I was having fun at Tyndall I got orders to go to Kadena AB, Okinawa Japan. I was finally going over seas. I was there for a total of two years, but during that time I traveled all over southern Asia and to the desert. I visited places like Korea, Austrailia, Singapore, Thailand, Quam and more places that I can name. While there I there I sewed on Staff Sergeant (E-5).  I really liked the island but it was long two years, and I was ready to leave.
I then went to Mtn. Home A.F.B. Idaho.  It's good to be in the states for a while. While I was there, I spent a good portion as a QA inspector. Learned a lot about what it takes to pass a major Operational Readiness Inspection. I also went back to the desert for the third time..
I then got orders to go to RAF Lakenheath, England. I have been here 2 years going on 3. I spent 1 1/2 years on the line working on the F-15E Strike Eagle. I am now one of the few that can say I have worked on every type of US F-15. Meaning A to E. I also spent a year as the NCOIC of the Debrief section. A spot reserved for TSgt's or higher. I met a good group of people there. One in particuller is Sean. He got me back into building models. He also put the idea of putting a model link as part of my site.
Well, this concludes this story for now but believe me there will be much more to come.
