December Pack Meeting
The December Pack Meeting will be held on December 14th at the Parkwood Elementary School cafeteria at 7:00 pm. Please bring a treat or drink to share (talk to your Den Leader about what is needed if you haven't already). Please remember, NO PEANUT PRODUCTS! The Cubs will be selling ornaments they made, so please bring quarters to purchase ornaments. All proceeds will go to Toys for Tots. Also, Scouts should bring a can of food to exchange for their Pinewood Derby car.

God and Me and God and Family
The first meeting for the God and Me and God and Family programs will take place Sunday, December 17th at Parkwood United Methodist Church from 4:00-5:00 pm. Additional meetings will be held on the following Sundays at the same time: January 7, 14, 21, 28, and February 4. Contact your Den Leader if you would like more information about these excellent programs.

Pinewood Derby
Pinewood Derby cars will be given out in exchange for a can of food at the December Pack Meeting. If you are unable to attend the meeting, contact your Den Leader to make arrangements. Two clinics will be held at Sol Lucas' house to give tips on designing and building your cars. The first, which will concentrate on cutting and shaping the car, will be on December 23rd and the second, which will concentrate on finishing the car, will be on January 6th. Both workshops will be held from 2:00-5:00 pm. All Scouts attending these clinics must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, these are not drop-off events. Scouts should think about what they would like their car to look like before they attend the first meeting. Watch for an email with additional details or contact your Den Leader for more information. As in previous years, the track will be set up at 7:00 pm on the Friday night before the Derby so that Scouts can weigh and test their cars. The Pinewood Derby itself will be held on Saturday, January 13th at Hope Valley Baptist Church on Hope Valley Rd. Car check-in will start at noon and the competition will begin at 1:00 pm.

Blue and Gold Dinner
The annual Blue and Gold Dinner will be held February 24th at Triangle Presbyterian Church at the corner of Tudor and Highway 54. The gathering will start at 6:30, with the dinner to begin at 7:00. The cost will be $12 per person. Tickets may be purchased at the Pinewood Derby. Contact your Den Leader if you are unable to purchase your tickets there.

Volunteer Needed
The Pack Committee needs an Outings Chair to help plan activities for the Scouts. Your participation is vital to the success of our Pack. Please contact Roger Jarrell if you're interested in volunteering (see the Contacts page for more information).
