David Parkhurst is a Great Highland
Bagpiper who also plays pennywhistle, uilleann pipes (or at least makes a valiant effort),
Scottish smallpipes, shuttle pipes and guitar. His interest in pennywhistles grew out of
need for one to practice Irish tunes on in preparation to play them on the uilleann pipes.
He studies whistle making under Glenn Schultz, of Thin Weasel Woodwinds. He has been recognized by the Clan MacDonald for his highland piping, and has medalled in competition at the Pleasanton Highland Games. David has played alongside Jennifer Licko, Empty Hats and many others. His whistles are the preferred instrument of several bands, including artists such as Larry Morris of Emerald Rose.
