PARDUE AMELIA COUNTY VIRGINIA DEEDS (Abstracts)
1733 - John Adams Patent, Prince George Co. VA 400 Acres. (This area of
Prince George Co. became Amelia Co. VA in 1734.)

Upper side of Deep Creek adjoining Abraham Burton's line and bounded
as follows: Beginning at scaly bark hickory on beaverpond branch
at or near the mouth of a small branch thence,
North 25o East 132 poles to a corner lightwood stake or knot thence,
East 270 poles to a corner, thence,
South 82 poles to Abraham Burton's line, thence along
the same line
West 16o South 4 1/2 poles to said Burton's corner, thence,
North 117 poles along Burton's line to his upper corner
upon Deep Creek as it meanders to the
mouth of Beaverpond Branch, thence up
Beaverpond Branch as it meanders to the 1st
station.

1733 - The John Adams Patent conveyed to John Pardue was probably done so before August of 1734 when this area being part of Prince George County became Amelia County, when thereafter the records appear in the Amelia County records. The Amelia County land records for this early period are substantially intact, while substantial Prince George deeds records for this early period have been lost.

1734 - Amelia County was formed.

1746 - John Perdue Patent, Amelia Co. VA. 400 Acres. 5 June 1746.

Lying and being in the county of Amelia on both sides of the head of
Winticomack Creek, adjoining Tesdales, Colemans, and Munford's lines
and bounded:

Beg. at corner shrub white oak in Munford's line thence,
East 252 poles to a faced corner, thence,
North 35o East 118 poles to Tesdale's lines, thence along his lines
West 35o North 116 poles to his corner, thence,
North 28o East 60 poles to Coleman's corner, thence along his line
West 35o North 161 poles to Munford's line, thence along his line
South 35o West 150 poles to his corner large forked pine, thence
South 18o West 113 poles to his corner pine, thence
South 5o East 81 poles to the beginning.


1758 - John Pardue Deed to William Pardue, Amelia Co. Va. 200 A. 21 Feb 1758.

John Perdue, the Elder of Amelia Co... to William Perdue... the said
John Perdue, the father for love & affection to his son, William Perdue
hath granted...200 A lying & being in Amelia Co. on Winticomack Creek
being the Upper Half of a greater tract of 400 A, bounded:

Beginning at a corner on Tesdales line running
South 63o West to a corner black jack, thence
North 5o West to a corner pine on Munford's line, thence
North 18o East to another corner in his line, thence
North 35o East to another corner in Munford's line, thence
East 35o South to Coleman's line, thence
South 28o West to the beginning.

John Pardue, the Elder of Amelia Co... to John Pardue, the Younger, of
the said county, for L & A hath granted...200 A lying & being in
Amelia Co. on the head of Winticomack Creek, being the lower half of
a greater tract of 400 A, bounded:

Beginning a corner Tesdale's line
South 63o West to a corner black jack, thence
South 5o East to a corner shrub white oak, thence
East to a faced corner, thence
North 35o East to Tesdale's line, thence to beginning.

1761 - John Pardue to Henry Walthall, Amelia Co. VA. 400 A. 24 Aug 1761.

John Pardue of the County of Amelia, Planter... Henry Walthall of the
same county...said John Pardue and Sarah, his wife..400 A, excepting
the graveyard...landed granted to John Adams by Patent, dated 20 June
1733, and bounded by the lines of George Worsham, Seth Perkerson, &
John Ford...

1767 - John Pardue to Benjamin Clardy, Amelia Co. VA. 200 A. 10 Aug 1767.
John Perdue of the Parish of Raleigh in the County of Amelia..200 A
lying and being in the County of Amelia on the South Side of Winiti-
comack Creek...bounded: Beginning at a corner black jack in Munford's
line, thence along his line to a corner shrub white oak, thence to a
corner Spanish oak in Tesdel's line, thence along his line to a corner
white oak in his line, thence along his line to a corner shrub white
oak, thence along the Dividing line between John Perdue and Wm Perdue
to the beginning and is part of a Patent granted to the said
John Perdue for four hundred acres bearing the date the fifth day of
June one thousand seven hundred and forty six...

19 Mar 1778.

Wm Munford to Wm Perdue...land lying and being in the County of Amelia
beginning at a red oak in the old line thence N5.E 131 1/2 chains to a
persimon in Wilson's line, thence S55E 44 1/2 chains to Perdue's old
line, thence along his line S34W 64 1/2 chains to an old pine thence
S15W 53 3/4 chains to the Beginning, containing 60 1/4 A being part
of 1000 acres devised to the said Wm Munford by the last will & test-
ament of James Munford, deceased...

1780 - William Pardue & wife, Frances to Robert Hood. 260 A. 20 Mar 1780.

William Pardue and Frances, his wife of the Parish of Raleigh in the
County of Amelia..to Robert Hood of same...Land give to him by his
father on both sides of Winiticomack Creek in Amelia Co. 260 A
bounded:

Beg. at a lightwood knot corner in Benjamin Clardy's line, thence
North 23o East 60 poles across creek to John Clardy's corner thence
West 35o North 161 poles to William Wilson's corner, thence
South 35o West 21 poles to a corner black jack, thence
North 55o West 89 poles to a corner persimmon, thence
South 5o West 260 poles to a corner red oak, thence
South 18o West 6 poles to a faced cornr thence
South 5o East to a dividing corner black jack between
said William Pardue and his brother

built by the neighbors and is to be kept a as a school house for the use of the
neighborhood.

Creek..386 A. beginning at Hackney's corner, a red oak in Governor
Johnson's line, then running by the governor's line
South 45o East 90 poles to a hickory thence
East 194 poles by Ballard's line to a black jack, then
North 256 poles by Kimbal's line to a poplar on Owens
Creek, thence
West 257 poles crossing the said creek to a white oak
in Hackney's line, thence by his line to
beginning...

Bertie Co. NC and his wife, Penneylope, 21 year lease of 150 A.
in Bute Co. NC on Owens Creek, for yearly rent of 4 pds VA
money. Lease to be in default if rent is behind or 20 days overdue.

Gov. Johnson's line to a marked white oak, thence down
by a marked line to Yallowod branch to beg. at a Hickory tree..it
being a part of a tract granted to Robert Caller 1 July 1758, & from
him to Peter Kimball by deed...

120 A. Beg. at a red oak joining part of a tract, property
of John Tanner, thence S along Thomas Green's line to a corner
white oak, thence along a line marked trees west to Yellowood
branch thence up said branch to a corner ash, thence along a
line of marked trees to the beginning...part of land formerly
William Bird's, and by him conveyed to his daugher, Lucy Whatley,
wife of the sd Jas. Whatley, by deed of gift and divided by a
new line from the rest of the tract agreeable to the sd Pardue
and John Tanner, who is now possession of the whole tract..

to Wm. Duke's line to a red oak on the Purches Patron
(Purchase Patent) line thence along that line to a hickory thence
along John Tanner's line East to a black jack thence along
the marked trees to the begin...formerly belonging to John Pardue.
