Being a tribute ven I saw no reason to keep it 'real' as my idea from the moment of conception was to make a fantasy venue combining all of the favourite fish of these two influential men.The actual peg images I pulled from the internet one afternoon and away I went.
So now we have Fathers Dream fully stocked with coarse fish such as roach perch and carp with a handfull of Brown Trout thrown in and dedicated to the memory of Walter Clarke, and Grandpa's Joy ,stocked with several species of trout and some coarse fish (mainly perch or sergeant stripeys as Grandpa used to call em) and dedicated to the memory of Jock Blair.
Unfortunately it seems I've made quite a few mistakes in this ven that I would dearly love to correct but I don't know if I have the courage to attempt the job.
I've been complimented on this venue recently as a 'secret' fly-fishing venue, thanks for the kind words but I must confess I had not thought of it as a possible fly venue as that was not my intention, my Grandfather had suffered from Polio in his youth and could not go fly-fishing so his forays after game fish was limited to those fisheries with an 'any-method' policy.
