FOOTFALLSHurried footfalls passing through the night
As laughter rose echoing in blind caverns
Sweeping waves over lipped cliff kisses
Plummeting to reveal an ivy hidden door
Opening slowly onto glowing wooded hills
Where within elysian strings are strung. Then for a moment I awoke to the dawning chorus
Singing boldly in a strange unearthly unison and
In the murmuring sea of sleep I plunged deep
Under creased blanketing waves where you came
Hovering, a light shade sparkling in the evening
Under a melting sun, crimson pathway shimmeringAcross a silver floorless ocean with snowdrops
Held crushed against your welling bosom.
The dewy-twinkling jewels in your golden-winged hair
Ruffling over shoulders into the enfolding night.
You paused at my side (an aurora borealis of gentleness)
Lost in wondrous thoughts, eyes emeraldingYet avoiding my crazy tortured being.
Not knowing destiny we each were scared
Our lifetimes froze, hearts madly pulsating
Before the twinning of souls you bravely spoke
In words broken overcoming stutter to sing
An angelic song that I longed to hearThat from the very beginning youd always loved me.
So much so, you fled without knowing why? And now
Our souls are playful porpoises leaping and thrusting
Chasing each other around the Atlantics west coast.
I open my lips to reply but before my unwilling eyes
You became again a light shade as I wentStumbling, another door yawning onto a waking world.
Did we truly met? It seemed so real!
So I began in my mind a prayer and felt
A warmness in the air, knowing somewhere
She had lit a candle of love
Her heart against mine(thinking of each other then)Burning bright throughout the night as I stood
Convinced wed meet again on this plane
To share our love (beginning and ending as)
Porpoises plummeting and soaring
Across the oceanworlds of eternity. For Mireille Le Clere
