| Reasons to Recycle It takes only 2-3 minutes per day, per person, to recycle. Aluminum - 300 years is the time it will take a littered aluminum can to break down. - An average tv set can be powered for 108 minutes from the energy of one recycled aluminum can. Plastic - 7% of the total weight of a typical landfill is made from plastics. - Clothing, carpet, rulers, etc. are all made from recycled plastic. Glass - Six million tonnes of glass are thrown away, each year in Canada. - It will take one million years for a littered glass bottle to break down. |
