7/10 SPLIT: This is regular canasta with 1 special rule...you must have either a canasta in 7s or an open meld in 10s, or an open meld in 7s and a canasta in 10s to go out! You CANNOT canasta both 7s and 10s. One or the other! Open meld means you must have that meld on your table NOT CANASTA’D. Bachelor Patry: Like the name implies, this game requires something of a manly meld. So it takes Jacks and Kings being melded to be able to go out. BIG BAD MEANIE: In this game only ONE person is allowed to take the pile in each hand.The first person to take the pile is the BIG BAD MEANIE . You are the only one who can take the pile during that hand. Your opponent may NOT take the pile. As the BIG BAD MEANIE you must make RED canastas only. The BIG BAD MEANIE may not make any black canastas so be careful Your opponent may make black canastas. Or RED if he chooses.Your opponent can make any kind of canastas. GO FISH : Throwing a black 3 entitles your PARTNER to immediately ask the next player for a card (the player next in line between you and your P). The player asked for the card must discard the card asked for or say GO FISH and discard as usual. This becomes a lot of fun because when you throw the black 3, it is your PARTNER who immediately gets to ask for a card. HOPSCOTCH: The FIRST hand, your FIRST meld and canasta must consist of one of 4,5, 6, or 7s, The SECOND hand, your FIRST meld and canasta must consist of 8, 9, 10 or J, The THIRD hand, your FIRST meld and canasta must consist of A, Q, or K.
