| Born: April 12th 1965. In: Enfield. Height: 5'7" Education: has an A Level and a collection of GCSEs Sean has been with the band since before the start, he was a roadie with the Housemartins. When The Beautiful South were formed he was asked to play bass he agreed and hasn�t looked back since.Having such a common name means that Sean has the trouble of confusing himself with an army of namesakes that include hundreds of computer geeks, the vice president of marketing and business for Tenor Networks, a popular Kentucky policeman and a senior army officer. The question is though, are these infact the same Sean Welch, the bassist from the Beautiful South and has an active life trying to do several jobs at once, or are they really different people. He first became close to the band in 1985 when he became roadie for the Housemartins. But when the Beautiful South were formed, they started a nationwide search for a good bassist. They couldn�t find one, so they went for Sean instead. But never mind, it has to be said that he has a full collection of brain cells, and has never had an addiction to heroine, which is quite impressive for a bass player. |
