Read My Review from Chicago

Paolo as Prince Charming in Cinderella
Milwaukee 04/07 and 04/08 2001

"A lovely night, a finer night you know you'll never see. You meet a Prince, a charming Prince as Charming as a Prince will ever be."

How true is that song? It was more than a lovely night, and it was more than a lovely production. And of course, Paolo was MORE than a handsome Prince. He was very handsome, Charming, talented, in Suburb voice, and of course, he fit the role like no one else could!

I must say, this is a show you have to see twice to believe. It just gets better each time! Of course, Paolo was the most amazing part of the show. and I'm not just saying that cause I'm biast. He really was. You should have seen the faces light up the moment he started singing. I looked around and saw that not a single person could keep from smiling that "Dreamy" kind of smile when they heard his voice. He really was amazing these last few nights. he never lost a beat.

I noticed they did things slightly different, played some things up a bit more than they did in Chicago. I have to say I loved it! I think they must have read the no talent got their degree from a cracker jack box critics, who all said they couldn't stand the "Cliche's" like "Been there done that" and so on. They really played up on those kind of Cliche's. Eartha started her "catwoman" growl and added a few more "Dah-lings" than I remembered, The Prince and the King interacted slightly differenly with Queen mommy wasn't looking, all of this lead to the histerical laughter from the audience. they really loved these so called "Out of date cliche's" as dubbed by the above mentioned no talent critics who wouldn't know a great show if it sat on them. :)

Again however, Paolo did steal the show whenever he was on, but he had tough competition. Who? Once again, the puppets. The mice and cat were met by laughter, applause, and every so often the gust of "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"'s from the audience. They were wonderful, and again, I still love how they didn't hide the puppeters. To me, it added to the peice. They really did a great job.

At 19, Jamie Lynn Sigler already has a good career going for her. A single due out soon, a hit tv series, and now a sucessful run of Cinderella in Milwaukee. I have to tell you, there is no way Deborah Gibson could have out done Sigler. She is an amazing talent, Even at the young age of 19 (Young to me at least. At 25, 19 is still a kid) :)

I was very pleased with the way the performances went. Jamie has a beautiful voice. Very well trained, very loud and clear, and not "Brintey Spears Pop" sounding like a lot of teenage girls tend to sound now a days. In fact, I was expecting that kind of sound the way the first critic talked about her. But Not at all. Her voice fit the role perfectly. And her acting was wonderful. You could see the excitement in her eyes. (Again, I sat close enough to see. I always seem to get the too close seats.) But it was wonderful and refreshing to see real emotion, where as with Deborah, you could tell she was acting. Major Kudo's to Jamie.

The Step mom and sisters of course were big parts of the show, and all did a fantastic job. The entire audience left commenting that they never laughed so hard, that the Stepmother was a riot and the two stepsisters were the most entertaining and colorful part of the show.

But besides Paolo and of course the sweet mice...the king, Queen and Lionel had to be my favorite part of the show. I Know I know they didn't have a huge part, but when they were on stage, you knew. It was wonderful.

Once again the most amazing show I've seen in a long time. Thanks to paolo and the cast.

Special thanks to Paolo, Eartha Kitt, Everett Quinton, and Ken Prymus for taking the time to Autograph my program.
