| LAV 25 |
| The LAV-25 is the most common model used by the Marine Corps. It features a turret mounted 25 mm chain gun and 2 other 7.62 mm machine guns. Designed for high speed recon missions, the LAV-25 is designed to carry a driver, vehicle commander, gunner and 4 recon scouts. All variations are equipped with 8 wheel drive and are amphibious. |

| Two Marines in Chemical/Biological protection "MOPP" level 4 gear with LAV's in Desert Storm. LAV's saw some of their first combat experience in the Gulf War and were very successful, only 1 was lost due to friendly fire based on miscommunication. |

| LAV AT |
| The LAV AT or Anti-Tank, is virtually identical to the LAV 25 as are all LAV's. It is different in that it is equipped with a different weapon system. The LAV AT, the second most common variation used by the Marine Corps features a double launcher for the TOW missile system. It also has a mount for a 7.62 mm machine gun for the vehicle commander to use. |
| LAV AD |
| The LAV AD or Air Defense is the newest variant in the arsenal of high speed light armored weapons the Marine Corps utilizes. It's turret weapon system is very lethal, designed to kill birds in flight or tear them apart with a wall of lead. It features 8 launch tubes for SAM (Surface to air) missiles and a 25 mm gatling gun. |
| LAV M |
| The LAV Mortar variant is the last of the vehicles designed with a weapons system. This vehicle features 81 mm mortar rounds which can be fired either from the vehicle or without. It also has a 7.62 mm machine gun. |
| LAV C2 |
| The LAV C2 or Command and Control is designed as an "in the field, on the go" command center. Equipped with radio systems and other communications gear. Like all the other LAV's it also has the 7.62 mm machine gun for the vehicle commander. |
| LAV L |
| This is the LAV Logistics vehicle. It carries the most important items, food! Actually it can carry just about any needed supplies but it usually carries "POL's," petroleums, oils and lubricants which are needed by the vehicles. It can also carry ammunition, spare parts, whatever is needed. |
