Once again, Roger & Pam Sharp hosted the Pantera Club of Northern California for the A/C Technical Session.  Starting promptly at 10am, the event is one of several Tech Sessions PCNC holds throughout the year.   There are big tech sessions and mini tech sessions.
Mini tech sessions are where between 5-10 Panteras and many people attend, with the goal of simpler tasks. This time it is one of the larger format tech sessions.
The priority of this event is A/C repair and recharging but any task is welcome.  A variety of work was completed today.   Over 25 Panteras and at least one Mangusta were present, while lesser vehicles were relegated to parking in the back forty.  Roger had invited a gaggle of old American hot rods also, but with Cool April Days scheduled the same day only a few hot rodders attended to see what our group of Foreign Ford Fans" were doing.
Todd Glyer, left, and Oscar were the chosen cooks.  Seen here sending smoke signals to the neighbors.  They started the crowd of 60-80 people on frozen snacks.  I mean FROZEN.  I almost broke a tooth on a cone kept cold by dry ice !  Nothing like starting with dessert first, Oscar said.  These events are pot luck, but once again appetizers (a huge pile of sausages) were carried around for those that had their hands dirty and deep in real work or not ready for the main dishes, consisting of, Corn beef, Tri Tip, Chicken, Turkey, Ham, various steaks, followed by desserts, salads, side dishes and more.
Numerous cars received A/C testing and recharging.  Several people brought their own stash of refrigerant, or a vendor in attendance would sell what you needed.  At the price R-12 is now, it may be time to host a refrigerant-converting session, to swap in new hoses, seals if necessary, and such.
Here a Goose gets a recharge from one of the A/C stations.  Steve also investigated behind his dash to check the evaporator (?) and connections.  Note the Factory wooden box !  Right, a Goose fuse box, in all it's glory.
Master mechanic Jim Kuehne (pronounced: key knee) in the yellow shirt, arrived to install a new CB antenna on his red Pantera.  As PCNC drives to Vegas, almost everyone has a CB to keep in touch.  A card with everyones cell number, the modern equivalent, is also available.  Jim finished his task quickly, as he is in high demand.  Moments later he was off to work on carburetors elsewhere.
Diane Deans tan (?) Pantera got some carb work, by Roger Sharp, while Jim investigated a problem with the yellow cars carburetor.
This is a great place to show a car for sale.  Here a yellow and black GTS arrives for it's review by several potential buyers.  The front bumper had been removed, but the mounting holes are still visible. Note the motivated buyer in the left image, dashing out of view.
I often comment on the Color of the Day, which is the most frequent color.  Although one might guess todays color is red from this randomly parked line, the most common color today was yellow !
