History
Panel-Wise was formed in March 1984 by David Hutchens who, from school served a panel beating apprenticeship with Mercedes for 5 years. From completing his apprenticeship he then went on to work for Mathwell Engineering producing and repairing race cars. Four years later he progressed to the position of workshop manager for Laleham Village Cars after joining them as a panel beater. From several years work there, David was head hunted by 4U Cars of Windsor and became their workshop manager for four years before deciding to start his own business.
After 16 years working with a large variety of prestige and performance vehicles, David applied his skillful knowledge to building up his own business specialising in high class and exotic vehicles. Panel-Wise first started in Ripley, Surrey where David acquired work from Guy Salmon Jaguar, Q.V. Motors (Ferrari specialists) and Bell & Colvill.
In 1988 Panel-Wise relocated for expansion to Weybridge, Surrey where the workforce grew from 3 members of staff to 8 and undertook work from Lamborghini GB and various Ferrari specialists, later to enjoy business with Aston Martin, Lotus and Subaru specialists. In the last 18 months Panel-Wise has once again expanded, from 4,000 square feet of workshop floor space to an impressive 10,000sq.ft. and grown in staff to a current total of 16.
Panel-Wise has grown commendably enabling us to cope with the large demand of high class repairs. We are proud to have become the largest Lotus approved bodyshop in the country and one of the few Lamborghini approved bodyshops in the world. |
