OLD FRIEND

Ive known you forever
Or so it seems.
Only ten years you say?
Thats crazy.
Youve always been my shoulder to cry on,
My comfort in a time of despair.
Since that fateful day in pre-school
When I was the new girl,
When you came up and asked me to play,
Weve been friends.
We were inseparable,
I remember it well.
Always at each others houses,
Or goofing off in school.
The recesses we spent playing silly little games,
We were so cool.
Alone in our own little world
Where unicorns, dragons and such existed.
We shared toys, trinket, sometimes clothes,
Almost everything, even friends.
When we grow old,
I hope well never forget the good ol days.
Because you, my old friend,
Have been with me since the beginning.
