2001
was a pretty crappy year and I'm SO glad it's over. Yeah, I finally got my gig in
October but overall it was pretty high stress and no fun for not only me,
but I think probably the world as well. So to kick off Twenty-oh-Two
with a bang and some real R&R, I rolled into LA for a little New Year's Eve
getaway. Stayed with Rex and
Taeko in Anaheim, had my In-N-Out double
double animal-style burger (yum!), went to Spundae and dinner in K-town and Intercrew and Manhattan Beach
with Jules and Sus and their boys. Oh yeah... and a little New Year's Eve party at the LA
Coliseum Gardens called the GIANT
VILLAGE (for conceptual drawings, maps, and event photos of this amazing
venue click here).
Over 12,500 revelers showed up and the music was unbelievable,
headlined by SASHA and Paul van
Dyk. The weather wasn't that great while I was in Southern
California... the nights were actually pretty
cold and it was so cloudy the whole time I don't think I ever saw a single star (no, not the
celebrity kind) either. Yeah, blame it on the smog.
Regardless, it
was still a lot of fun, driving, relaxing, bonding, dancing, eating.... a good time
was had by
yours truly. Unfortunately I wasn't able to see everyone I wanted to
and I had to take the red-eye back and go straight to work. United
sucks... their seats are like park benches. Can't wait to go back to
LA....
