Chapter Three
"She's his yellow brick road, leading him on, and letting him go as far, as she lets him go, going down to nowhere..."-Michelle Branch
Leslie looked confused. "N who?" Lise rolled her eyes. "They're called Nsync. Some teeny music group." Leslie sighed. "Well, whatever adds promotion to the movie. Ouch! Could you not rub so hard? My face is delicate as glass!" Lise looked around, in search of someone. "Leslie, where is your sister?" Leslie snickered. "How should I know? She's probably off with her nose in a book, as usual." Lise sighed. "You stay and let the make-up people do their job. I'll go find your sister." Leila looked around, boredly. She wished she could be at home, doing normal things. Maybe even at the mall. She didn't understand why she constantly had to go to and from shoots and promotions with her mother and sister. It's not like they actually had any use for her here. "Leila!" She looked to see her mother, walking toward her.

Lise shook her head, at her daughter sitting on the swings staring off into the distance. "I need you to greet that music group and show them where they need to go." Leila sighed and jumped off. "Don't you have people who actually work here to do that kind of stuff? People that are paid?" Lise crossed her arms. "Don't you speak to me in that patronizing tone, young lady. I don't appreciate it, one bit. Now, let's move it." Leila sighed and brushed past her mother.

Justin looked around, smiling from ear to ear. "This has gotta be the best day of my life." Isabelle frowned. "But I thought meeting me was the best day of your life." Justin smiled. "I lied." She shook her head and smiled at the brunette approaching them. "Um, I take it you guys are Nsync?" Johnny nodded and stuck out his hand. "Johnny Wright. And these are the guys. Justin, Joey, Chris, JC, Lance, and, Isabelle." The young girl nodded and took his hand. "Leila. Leila Morgan." Joey chuckled. "You're Leslie's sister?" Leila rolled her eyes. "Unfortunately." Lise walked up, overhearing this, and laughed. "Oh, Leila, I believe that your sister is in need of her latte. Why don't you head on down to Starbucks and get her one?" Leila sighed. "Keys?" Lise chuckled. "Good one, dear. It's a splendid day outside, why don't you take a walk to get some fresh air?" Leila grit her teeth. "Yes, mom." She turned away and started to walk off, as she heard her mother start instructing them on what to do.

Isabelle watched Leila walk away and couldn't help but feel a bit sorry for her. Still staring after her, she felt someone touch her arm, and she turned to see JC looking at her. "Hey, you coming?" She shook her head. "Actually, no. A good cup of coffee doesn't sound too bad right now. I'll see you soon." He nodded, understanding. "Alright." He leaned down and kissed her cheek. "Hurry back." She nodded, and squeezed his hand. "I will and make sure Justin doesn't scare the girl off." He nodded and watched her walk away, before catching up with the others.

"Yes, I need a mocha latte, please." Leila said, absently. "Here you go." She took it and smiled. "Thank you." She turned around and saw the blond-haired woman she had been introduced to briefly, before. She smiled. "Leila, right?" Leila nodded. "Isabelle. Hi." She smiled. "I just thought coffee sounded like a good idea. Um, I'll have a French vanilla cappuccino." Leila nodded. "Would you like me to wait for you?" Isabelle nodded. "It'd be nice to have someone to talk to. I mean, that's not of the male species." Leila laughed and waited until she got her coffee, before walking out.

"So, how do you know those guys? Are you a cousin?" Isabelle laughed. "Well, that's what I'm supposed to say, to keep the press of my back. In reality, I got the tiring job of girlfriend." Leila smiled, and they talked all the way back to the set. "Well, well, look who finally decided to come back." Chris said, smiling. "Yes, finally." Leila looked to see her mother, standing there, looking very unhappy. "I did exactly what you asked me to." She turned to Isabelle. "I'll be right back." Isabelle nodded. "Take your time." Lise sighed. "Your sister is in quite a frenzy for not getting her coffee. Good luck in handling her."

Leila shook her head and walked towards her sister's trailer, when she noticed a curly-headed boy standing off to the side, trying to look inconspicuous. "What are you doing?" she asked, causing him to jump back. "Ah, um, well. I was just ah, admiring the trailer's interior, is all." She looked at him strangely, before crossing her arms. "You know, she's not as wonderful as everyone makes her out to be. In fact, once you get to know her, you'll wish you didn't real quick. So, don't say you weren't warned." She turned away and walked into the trailer.

Justin shook his head confused. "Geeze, someone's got some jealousy issues." Isabelle placed a hand on the younger man's shoulder. "I don't think it's jealousy, Justin. That girl seems to be the most selfless person, I have ever met in my life. It can't be easy being Leslie's younger sister. Everyone always giving her all the attention, being waited on hand and foot Leila must have it rough." Justin looked toward the trailer, not saying anything, knowing she was right.
