| Girl no matter where I go I call you after every show In your voice I hear a funny tone Somebody's holding you. "Once again, we are NSYNC!" The five talented members of NSYNC announced as they ended their first ever-televised concert. Justin, Chris, Lance, and Joey ran off the stage. JC wasn't so ready though...he jumped around and made a spectacle out of himself for the audience. Joey was forced to run back onto the stage in front of thousands of screaming fans in the Disney arena and throw JC over his shoulder before waving and FINALLY leaving the stage. All the boys were back on their bus and they were all ranting about how the show went, but JC was in a daze. Adrenaline was still pumping through the thick veins on his wrist and all he could think about was how the concert had gone. He reached into his pocket to get a napkin and smiled when he saw what he had pulled out instead. He stared at the 4'11" figure and her hazel eyes permeated through JC's soul. He had a sudden urge to call her and so he excused himself from his still ranting best friends and walked to the front kitchen area of the bus and sat down at the table. Still staring at the picture, he pulled out his cell phone and dialed his girlfriend Suzen's number. As the phone rang halfway across the country, JC took in every detail of his girlfriend that he hadn't seen in three months, he looked at her straight shoulder length brown hair and remembered how smooth it felt in between his fingers. He ran his hand over the three tattoos that decorated her body and sighed remembering what it was like to be able to kiss them. After about ten rings, JC was ready to hang up the phone and give up. But suddenly, a frantic out of breath Suzen answered the phone: "Hello?" "Suzy? How are you?" Just hearing her voice was healing to his soul. "Oh" She started. "Jace, I'm fine how are you?" She asked as if she was surprised he was calling. "Great! We just finished the Disney special. You'll get to see it on TV soon. Isn't it exciting?" He oozed with enthusiasm. "Yeah!" She said distractedly. "That's great!" She oozed with fake enthusiasm. Suddenly, there was a crash heard in the background and Suzen giggled. "What's so funny?" JC asked suspiciously. "Hmm?" Suzen asked confusedly. "Oh nothing sweetie." Her tone of voice was sickeningly sweet and JC couldn't do anything but cringe. Suzen giggled and then it turned into a full-fledged laugh as JC heard a male groan in the background. "Who's that?" He asked. Suzen gasped and then hesitated before answering. "Jace, it's just my brother silly." "Suzen." He said calmly "You don't have a brother." The frown marks in his tanned forehead deepened as he struggled to control his anger. "Oh right." She said sheepishly. Then Suzen giggled again, but this time the laugh of a man in the background was evident. "Look Jace, I better go I have to go pick my little sister up from ballet." Then the phone clicked off. "Bye Suzy...I love you." He said. But nobody heard him because the only thing that he could hear was the steady beep of the phone. Now you see me on TV I thought you'd be proud of me Somehow things have changed **1 month later** "Stay tuned for the world premiere of our first ever Disney concert special NSYNC in concert!" The announcer said as the TV started to flash different colors and NSYNC appeared on the screen, saying a prayer and then hugging. JC hadn't spoken to Suzen since that night. 'Maybe I'm just over reacting, maybe it was just her friend or something and she was just afraid to tell me...yeah right JC...you're dumb if you believe that. But maybe she deserves another chance after all I'm not really around much any more.' He picked up his new cell phone off of his bunk and dialed Suzen's number. The phone rang and this time she picked up on the first ring. "Hello?" "Suzy, what are you up to?" He asked, he couldn't help but smile when he heard her voice. "Umm...nothing actually. Why?" She asked curiously. "Well then turn it to the Disney channel, our concert is playing now!" He said excitedly. "Ok, hold on." He could her her fumbling with the remote to find the right channel and she gasped when she saw her boyfriend on stage. "Surprised?" He laughed. He expected her to say something positive...to be somewhat proud. Boy was he surprised when he heard her response. "Who are all those girls out in the audience? Why are they screaming your name like that? What?" She freaked out as a sign flashed across the screen that said "JC will you marry me?" "What's that all about?" She complained. JC ran his hands through his hair and took a deep breath. This certainly wasn't the same Suzen he had left behind three months ago. ****Flashback**** "Jace, do you really have to go?" Suzen said lying on the couch with his arms around her waist and her head against his chest. "Yeah, the tour starts tomorrow. I wish I didn't have to go though." He said kissing her forehead and taking her hands in his. "But I'll be back soon, I promise." "You better keep that promise." She teased and started tickling his sides. JC squirmed to get out of her grasp, but it was very difficult considering that she was on top of him. So JC just tickled her back. They both played around until they were both out of breath. JC looked up at his girlfriend that still lay on top of him. Her hazel eyes had always had this amazing healing power. 'How am I going to make it on tour without her?' He wondered. "You're beautiful you know that?" He said placing a disobedient piece of hair behind her ear. Suzen just smiled and leaned in to give him a kiss. Their lips were an inch apart... "JC man c'mon!" Chris whined as he barged through the door. "Whoops, my bad. Did I interrupt something?" He asked with a devilish grin. "Well it doesn't matter now does it crazy?" JC laughed. He placed a quick kiss on Suzen's lips and promised he'd call her from the bus, before he left for his first American tour. ****End Flashback**** JC was forced back into reality when he heard Suzen's voice still complaining. "Those girls Suzy, are the fans. They do stuff like that. You're going to have to get used to that if you're going to be my girlfriend." He laughed. "Oh...well...JC...I've been meaning to talk to you about that." She said hesitantly. JC's heart dropped and he didn't really want to hear what came next. "Maybe....maybe it would be best if we saw other people." She said then rushed to explain. "I mean...Jace we never see each other. And you have millions of girls throwing themselves at your feet everyday. I don't know if I'd be able to handle that." "But you can!" JC panicked. "Come on tour with me, we can spend time together. You're the only one for me." JC pleaded. "Jace...I'm really sorry." She said before hanging up the phone. I wasn't over you I was away from you, And now you've left me When skies are gray, I wasn't over you I was away from you And now you've thrown it all away JC walked back to the back of the bus in a daze and sat on the couch, as he pretended to watch Justin and Chris fight over who was better at mortal combat. 'This isn't happening. This must just be a really bad dream.' He pinched himself and sighed when he realized that this WAS happening to him. 'But I love her SO muchand I thought that she loved me too.' He reached into his pocket and stared at the same picture he had looked at so many times when he needed the strength to hold on. 'She's so beautiful.' He thought as he allowed a tear to escape and run down onto the picture. He closed his eyes and willed the world to go away and leave him alone. 'I'm nothing without her. We're meant to be, we're soul mates.' He opened his eyes again and looked at his watch and gasped when he realized the date. 'Today was our two year anniversary. His head was throbbing with pain and he had to get up and leave the room so that none of the guys would realize anything was wrong. He walked back to his bunk as her words replayed over in his mind. "I think we should see other people...other people...other people." He buried his head in his hands and sobbed as his world came crashing down at his feet. Part Two |
