Part Two
When I'm on the stage with NSYNC
Trying to make a way for you and me
City to city you're on my mind
Tell me baby, who's gotten my time?

**2 years later**
"I've loved you forever, in life times before. And I promise you never, will you hurt anymore, I give you my word, I give you my heart. This is a battle we've won. And with this vow, forever has now begun." JC finished his solo and closed his eyes. This song had always been hard for him to sing because of the very special person he had written it for long ago.

***Flashback***
"JC where are we going?" Suzen giggled as JC led her into a building with his hands covering her eyes so she couldn't see anything. JC finally let his hands leave her eyes and she gasped when she saw what was before her. "Oh my god! Jace!"

They were in a greenhouse and set up in the middle of it was a blanket with candles and a picnic basket surrounding it. She looked to her right and she saw a baby grand piano. "What's the piano for?" She asked curiously.
"You'll see Suzy, just be patient!" He chuckled. "Like it?"

"Like it? I love it! It's the best anniversary present Jace! MmmmI'm hungry, let's eat!" Suzen said walking over to the blanket. She heard JC chuckle a little and she just shrugged it off. The twill woven picnic basket sat in the middle of the green wooly blanket and so she walked over to it and opened it. She looked disappointed when she found no food in the basket...just a single sheet of white paper. She picked up the paper and started to read it and she almost started crying when she read the words. "What is this Jace?" She asked as JC walked up behind her and took her in his arms.

"It's a song I wrote."
"For me?" She asked shocked.
"Of course it's for you silly." He said and kissed her on the forehead. He took her by the hand and pulled her up and led her to the piano. He sat down and patted the spot next to him. Suzen sat down and gave him a curious look. JC opened up the piano and slid his fingers over the ivory keys. He closed his eyes and sang his heart out..
****End Flashback****

JC could still remember that day like it was yesterday. It had been their one-year anniversary and JC had gone to every length to make it special for her. Of course, he never wanted the song to be on their new album...it caused too much pain. But, one day he was playing the song in the studio and stupid him, he hadn't checked to see if Johnny was around. Lucky him, Johnny was and when he heard the song, he insisted that they use it on the new album. JC chuckled remembering that day. Of course he said yes...how could he explain to Johnny how special that song was to him? He'd never understand.
"Every word I say is true, this I promise you. Ooh I promise. You." Justin sang and finished the song.
'Finally...I thought it would never end.'

***After the show***
All the guys were at an after party and JC was trying desperately to have a good timebut it wasn't working. He looked over at Joey who had managed to charm every female in the room and wished he could have just one ounce of his happiness. Justin was in the corner of the room talking with Britney Spears who had just shown up at out of practically nowhere. Even though Britney and Justin insisted that they were just best friends, even a blind person could see the chemistry between them. JC wondered why they weren't more than thatit was SO obvious that they were meant to be together. He saw Britney laugh at something Justin said and then playfully hit him on the arm. Justin got a serious expression on his face and leaned over to put a misplaced strand of hair behind Britney's ear and then he smiled at her. JC couldn't help but grin. 'I want that happiness' He thought.

He looked over to Chris who was dancing with Dani and he saw how hard Chris was trying to hide the love he had for her so that the fans wouldn't get mad. To them Dani was just another fanbut to Chris she was his world. 'Suzen used to be my world.' JC thought. He looked over and laughed when he saw another NSYNC member that didn't look very happy. Danielle Fishel had also shown up out of what seemed to be nowhere and she was following Lance around the room trying to convince him to dance with her.

Finally he gave in and agreed to ONE dance but all along Lance was rolling his eyes as he danced with her. His eyes pleaded with JC to save him. 'Why not?" He thought. 'It's not like I have anything better to do.' He walked up to where Lance and Danielle were dancing and asked to cut in. Lance agreed a little too quickly and Danielle gave him a dirty look.

"Well...well... JC long time no talk." She said in her annoying voice. "So...how's Suzy doing?" She asked evilly knowing that they had broken up a long time ago.
"Hahaha...funny Danielle." He said and gave her a mean look. "Look okay. I don't feeling like dancing anymore. Why don't you go find someone REALLY desperate to go dance with?" JC snapped.

Danielle just smirked and pulled away. "Suit yourself JC. I don't know why you hang on to her. She's never coming back you know." She said before walking away. The words she had said etched a hole into JC's heart as he realized just how true they were. "She's never coming back you know...never coming back...never coming back."

All I do I do for you
Now look what you've put me through
My heart is hurting for you

JC excused himself from the party and walked back to his hotel room. He closed the door behind him and turned the light on. Everything around him had become monotonous lately. Same white walls with a double bed and same white shower curtain. Same show everyday with screaming girls begging for just a one-night stand. Same manager, that tried to control every aspect of his life. And same pain that he had been feeling ever since that phone call two years ago. Some times he wondered 'I gave up Suzen for THIS?' He sighed and walked over to his suitcase and opened it up.

He fumbled through all of his clothes looking for a pair of sweat pants to wear to bed. He found a pair of them and pulled them out of the suitcase, a bunch of photographs fluttered out of the suitcase with it. He held his breath and looked at all the pictures that lined the carpet. He picked one up and looked at it. It was picture of when he went to visit his brother a year ago. It was the middle of summer and they were hanging out at a local pool. Since they were in Orlando, what he pretty much now considered his hometown, JC didn't worry too much about disguise...everyone knew him there.

Neither one of them had noticed the big puddle of water before them and they had tripped and landed on top of one another. His mom had made sure to get a picture of that. JC laughed at that memorybut all of a sudden something caught his attention. In the background was a girl about his age with a pink bikini on, she was getting her things together to leave the pool and a guy with dark hair was standing behind her as if he was impatiently waiting for her. At this particular moment though, the girl had turned around and it seems she was watching the commotion that Tyler and he had caused. But she wasn't watching Tylershe was watching JC. And the look on her face was of pure sadness and longing. JC almost couldn't believe his eyes. The girl in the picture...it was Suzen.

I wasn't over you
I was away from you
And now you've left me
When skies are gray
I wasn't over you
I was away from you
And now you've thrown it all away

JC stared in shock at the girl in the picture. She looked absolutely miserable and she looked absolutely beautiful at the same time. 'Who's that guy?' JC wondered. Of course he couldn't tell because his back was to the picture. He ran his fingers through his coarse brown hair and sat on the bed with a thoughtful expression on his face. His eyes traveled down to the remaining pictures on the floor and he laughed when he noticed another one. It showed JC with an evil look on his face holding a bucket over his father's head and his father looked like he was formulating a plan.

The picture had also been taken at the pool last year. But this time it was he and his father that were having a water fight. JC had brought a bucket with him and he had just now filled it with a bunch of water. JC chuckled remembering how his father had ran and hid behind a lawn chair that didn't even belong to them. In the end his father had gotten soaked when he removed himself from behind the lawn chair, not realizing that JC was hiding behind him.

The picture had been taken by Tyler at the exact moment that his father had gotten absolutely drenched. His eyes traveled to the background of the picture again and this time he saw a completely different scene. A woman was laying on her back on a lawn chair watching the commotion and laughing. But a man was yelling at her at the same time. He was holding a twig in his hand and it looked like he was going to use it on her. The women though seemed to be completely oblivious to this situation, and completely intrigued by what was going on between JC and his father. His eyes traveled to the face of the woman and he was shocked once again at what he saw. Yet again...Suzen was the woman in the picture. JC frantically gathered all the pictures lying on the floor and tried to lay them across his bed in the order that they had been taken.

Then he carefully examined the background of each picture and was scared at what he sawNot all of the pictures contained Suzen in the background...but many did. As he looked at them carefully, he could see a mini story unfolding...In the first picture, Suzen was just walking in with the guy and she looked pretty happy. In the second picture, Suzen was swimming behind JC and staring at him while the guy pulled on her arm to get her out of the pool. Out side of the pool in the third picture, Suzen was wrapping a towel around herself while the man yelled at her for some reason. The third picture was one he had already looked at, in it Suzen was lying in the lawn chair and the man was holding the twig above his head. It was the fourth picture that scared him though. Suzen was scrunched into a ball on the chair and she looked like she was crying. The man's hand lay harshly on the side of her head like he was in the process of hitting her. His face was filled with anger and he looked like he was fully capable of bringing major harm to her.

JC's eyes stopped at the last picture where she was packing up to leave and the man was standing behind her. What he saw now was something different from what he had seen the first time. The look she had on her face was a pleading look, not a sad one. It was almost as if she was begging whoever would look at her for help. He studied the picture more closely and was horrified when he saw the huge bruise that covered much of Suzen's thigh.

JC closed his eyes; he had no idea what to make of this. It was obvious she was in trouble, but he didn't know what he could possibly do about it.
Suddenly his cell phone started to ring and he slowly reached over to answer it. He was in a daze when he answered the phone with a not interested:
"Hello?"
"Jace?"

The feminine voice brought him back to earth when he realized whom it was.
"Oh my god! Suzen, it's you! It's been forever since you called...how are you?" He asked concerned, remembering the pictures that he had almost forgot all about when he heard her voice again.

"I can't really talk now" She said with a scared tone her voice. "Jace, you've gotta help me..he's going to kill me." She broke down sobbing. "He said that I cheated on him and that I don't love him anymore. He said that he's going to kill me because if he can't have me than no one can." She panicked.
"He? Tell me who he is Suzen? Tell me who's doing this to you!" He demanded almost in tears himself.
"His name is" She started but then they both heard a door slam in the background. "Oh my god, he's back. I have to go Jace...Please help!" She pleaded; all her pain was evident by her voice.

Baby all I wanna do
Is be the one that's there for you
And hold you when it seems that times are bad
Girl this love is just too good for me to let it go...

JC quickly hung up the phone and almost automatically dialed the number of the airport. He ordered a ticket whose airplane was departing in fifteen minutes; he would arrive home a half an hour after that. He just prayed that he wouldn't be too late. JC quickly took his wallet and left the room, taking the key with him. His bodyguard Carl saw the state of worry that JC was in and asked him what was wrong.
"Nothing Carl, I just need to leave...NOW. I don't need any security or anything. Please just trust me on this." JC pleaded with Carl, who was arguing with him on his need for security.
"Well...will you at least tell me where you are going?" Carl pleaded.
"I'm going home." Is all JC said before running down the stairs and leaving the hotel, so that he could board the airplane and save Suzen...hopefully?

****Meanwhile back at the hotel****
Lance was just taking his coat off as the Carl barged into his room.
"What is it? What's wrong?" Lance asked.
"JC...he just up and left. All he told us was that he was going home. Do you know what could be wrong? I already asked all the other guys and they don't know. Do you?" Carl prayed that he did.
"No, I honestly have no clue." Lance said worriedly. "Did you check his room?"
"Yeah, all we found were these." Carl said handing him a bunch of pictures.

Lance studied all of the pictures and saw nothing out of the ordinary. But for some reason though, something was nagging him to look at the pictures closer. When he did and saw the people in the background, he gasped.
"Oh my god. That's Suzen." Lance said while examining what was going on in the pictures. Once he saw them all, everything started to make sense. He grabbed his coat again and flew out the door. "Come on! I think I know where he is! And he's definitely going to need some help." Lance yelled to the bodyguards.

****On the plane****
JC tried to get some rest for that half hour, but he couldn't. So many thoughts were racing through his head, that he didn't know what to make of all of them. 'Is she okay? Will I be able to save her?' He thought, remembering the athletic build of the guy in the picture. 'What if I'm too late?' Was the main thought that ran through his head. Before he could make any sense out of any of these thoughts, the pilot announced that they had landed. JC took a deep breath and stepped out of the plane and immediately hailed a taxi.
"Where to?" The driver asked.

"165 maple lane and please hurry." He asked anxiously. The taxi pulled out into the highway and JC groaned when he saw the traffic. "Can't you get through them?" JC pleaded.
"No I'm sorry sonny." The taxi driver apologized.

JC prayed for strength and almost immediately the cars began to clear outit was a miracle The taxi driver put his foot on the gas and they sped all the way to the address JC had given him. When they stopped outside, JC jumped out of the car, almost forgetting to pay the driver.

"That'll be $20.25." The driver said. JC just pulled out a hundred-dollar bill and said.
"Keep the change." Before he frantically ran to the door. His fingers grasped the doorknob and he slowly turned it to the right. Right as he was about to open the door he heard a gunshot...

I wasn't over you
I was away from
And now you've left me
When skies are gray
I wasn't over you
I was away from you
And now you've thrown it all away

JC's heart stopped and he ran into the house. He immediately came face to face with the man in the picture.
"Where is she? What have you done to her?" JC demanded to know.

The man just chuckled and looked at him evilly. "You must be the jerk that stole my woman." He said, getting closer to JC with every word. "Well isn't this a sweet surprise." He sneered and pushed JC against the wall. "You came to save your woman. Little do you know you're a little to late for that."

"Where is she? Tell me where she is!" JC pleaded with the man.
"Oh don't worry." The man growled. "You'll see her soon enough." The man picked JC up by his collar and threw him across the room. "This is just too perfect you know that?" He laughed. "Now I can take care of you too, so that NO ONE else can feel the pain I did when I found out that a creep like you stole my woman." He laughed again. "No one will ever have to see you're face again." The man said, pulling a gun out of his pocket and putting it to JC's head. "Sorry now that you took my woman from me?" He chuckled.
"I...I didn't take her from you." JC panicked. He struggled to get away from the manbut the man was too large. He kicked and squirmed but it didn't work. The man had him cornered and he was like a scared cat that had no options, just to pray for help. The gun clicked and JC watched as the man's pudgy finger pulled back the trigger as if in slow motion. A shot was heard and JC fell to the ground...

I wasn't over you
I was away from
And now you've left me
When skies are gray
I wasn't over you
I was away from you
And now you've thrown it all away

"Put your hands up and remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law." The police officer said as he cornered the man.

JC came to and realized that the gunshot wasn't from the man's gun, it was from the police officer's gunhe hadn't been hit at all. He looked up and smiled when he saw his four friends at the doorway. Carl was there too. Never had he ever been so glad to see them.  When he got all his consciousness back, he looked back over at the guys and realized only three of them were there nowLance was missing. Suddenly he heard a cry that he knew was Lance's voice and he ran to the direction it was coming from.
"Lance what is..."

He started, but he wasn't able to finish when he saw Suzen lying in a puddle of blood on the floor. "Oh my god! Call an ambulance! She needs a doctor, she needs some help!" JC sobbed taking the woman he stilled loved into his arms. Lance kept on trying to get his attention in between his own sobs but JC wouldn't listen. "Call a doctor, get the ambulance!" He screamed. Taking his T-shirt off and holding it to her chest to help stop the bleeding. "Do it now!" JC said looking to Lance and screaming. All the while Lance was still sobbing and trying to get his attention. "Lance? Why are you still sitting there? Call an ambulance!" He screamed.

"JOSHUA SCOTT CHASEZ! LISTEN TO ME!" Lance said angrily.
"What?" JC asked, still holding Suzen tightly.
"There's no need to call an ambulance!" Lance said sobbing.
"Why not?" JC screamed. "They can help her! They can make her better!" JC sobbed like a five-year-old.
"Because JC...Suzen...she's dead." Lance cried out.

"NO!!" JC screamed. "No, she's not dead. She's going to be fine!" JC sobbed, rocking Suzen back in forth in his arms. "Right Suzen? Tell Lance you're going to be fine!" JC said crazily talking to the unconscious figure. When he saw how blue her lips were, he knew Lance was right and he broke down even more.  "Why? Why did God take her away from me?" He cried out. "How could he be so cruel?" He kissed Suzen's frozen forehead and laid her on the floor. "She was so beautiful and perfect." JC said stroking her blood-streaked hair. "Lance SAY SOMETHING FOR GOD'S SAKE! IT'S YOUR SISTER THAT'S LYING ON THE FLOOR HERE!" JC said before he fell to the ground and lay down sobbing next to Suzen's immobile figure.

The End!
