Chapter Seven
Melissa... what... on earth happened to you?" JC asked in shock as he looked at her. She shook her head slowly taking deep hard breaths, "Don't... don't...w...worry about me." she said as she shakily made her way to the door. She pulled out her keys and tried to put the key into the lock, but only sank to the ground breaking down into tears.

He quickly fell down to his knees beside her and pulled her close to him holding her tightly as she sobbed hysterically against his chest.

"What in the hell is going on here?" he asked himself as she rocked Melissa gently in his arms hoping to ease her crying. But she only cried harder clinging to him for dear life, trembling violently. JC sighed and ran his fingers through her hair holding her tightly as she cried, not knowing what to do to help her.

He finally gave up on waiting for her to stop crying. He carefully scooped her up into his arms and unlocked her door, carrying her inside, then laid her down on the couch, where she curled up into a tight ball still crying hard; eventually crying herself to sleep.

Two hours later, JC was still sitting in the same spot; on the edge of the couch running his fingers through Melissa's hair watching her sleep. He looked down when he felt her stirring and starting to wake up. She sat up quickly  and looked around blinking her eyes that were crusted with dried up tears.

"Melissa...."JC said quietly, kneeling in front of her, putting his hands on her knees looking up at her. "Wh.. what?" she sighed, rubbing her eyes.

"I want to know what happened to you." Melissa sighed and took a deep breath, bit her lip and proceeded to tell JC the whole story. About how she had gotten together with Brian and thought she had found the love of her life, but which turned out to be the total opposite. Then she told him about how he abuses her physically and verbally, and even about what he'd do to her if she found out about the night JC had been over and how they'd kissed in the doorway before he left.

JC listened to her while looking up at her in shock, unable to believe what he was hearing. "Melissa, oh my god you gotta get out of that." She only shook her head violently, and he could tell just how scared of him she really was.

"Listen to me, you HAVE to get out now. If you wait any longer it will only get worse!" JC said, trying to reason with her. "JC you don't understand! He'll... he'll hurt me!" she cried. He sighed and shook his head, "No he won't. I won't let him hurt you anymore." She bit her lip and let a few tears fall, looking down at him. JC nodded and took her hands intertwining their fingers slowly, "I promise you, Melissa, I won't let him hurt you anymore."

Brian had been calling Melissa's house for an hour straight and wasn't getting an answer, because JC had turned her phones off while she was asleep. He slammed the phone down and quickly drove over to her house and parked down the street, eyeing JC's jeep sitting in the driveway. He shook his head and gritted his teeth, getting more angry as each second passed, "Oh you wanna play that way huh Melissa? Well... I'll play your game and I will DEFINITLEY play JC's game too. You two will regret ever messing with me like this." Brian said to himself as he threw the car into drive and peeled off down the street at an incredibly fast speed, silently planning his revenge.
