| Chapter Nine | ||||
| JC ran up the stairs and into Melissa's room to find her hunkered down in a corner curled up into a little ball, trembling violently. JC sank down next to her and lifted her chin seeing continuous tears spilling down her face, and extreme fear pouring out of her eyes. "Melissa, what's wrong? What's happened?" JC questioned, searching her face for answers, but he only made her more upset and frightened. He sighed and looked down, then he noticed she was clutching something in her right hand. He looked at her then back down at her hand, then started to gently pry her fingers away from the paper. She tightened her grip shaking her head furiously. "Melissa, let go. Let me have it." he said softly, tilting her chin back up so she was looking at him. She jerked her chin away from his fingers and started to shake even more. He sighed and finally pried her fingers away from the paper. He unwadded it and read it to himself. He gritted his teeth in anger and frustration then tossed the paper aside. "Come on." JC coaxed, as he carefully picked her up. "Wh...wh...where are...you taking me?" Melissa spatted out, starting to get even more scared. "Shh. I'm taking you with me and getting you out of here. Somewhere where you'll be safe." He said quietly as he held her tight and gently kissed her forehead, trying to calm her down. She sniffled and took a deep breath, starting to ease up on her crying from being in JC's arms. She felt safe again. But she knew there was no way she could be in JC's presence at all times. He couldn't protect her ALL the time. Although he did his best, and as much as he wanted to, he couldn't protect her the way she NEEDED to be protected. He carefully sat her down on the bed and grabbed some bags from her closet, then started packing up some of her stuff. She sighed hard, and wiped her eyes staring blankly out the window. She jumped and gasped when she felt a hand on her shoulder. "Shhh... I'm sorry.... I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." he sighed as he carefully picked her back up. He took her downstairs and put her in his jeep, shut the door and got into the drivers seat. He looked over at her and sighed, as he watched her biting her lip. He felt so helpless. He knew how scared she was, and he wished he could put a stop to everything. He shook his head and backed out of the driveway, then headed towards his house that was completely isolated. He carefull watched his rearview mirror to make sure they weren't being followed. Brian smirked and watched them leave Melissa's house. He knew JC would be watching for him, so he decided to lay low and not follow them. He would find out soon enough about all the places they could possibly be going. "Yeah try to run and hide Melissa. There's NO hiding from me this time." he said to himself as he drove back to his house. He got out of his car and looked around, and pulled out his house key and walked inside. "Nick?! Are you here yet?" "Dude, you can stop yelling. I'm RIGHT here." Nick replied, waving his hand in front of Brian's face. Brian shook his head and threw his keys down, "Oh give me a break! I'm SORRY if my mind is in other places right now!" Nick smirked and cocked an eyebrow. "As in your mind is on MELISSA right now?" Nick laughed. Brian gave him an evil glare and smacked Nick upside the head. "SHUT UP you asshole!! Did you get that information you were supposed to get for me??" Nick shrugged and crossed his arms. "Maybe I did and maybe I didn't." "This is NOT the time to be playing your stupid childish games!" Brian yelled, starting to get agitated. Nick shook his head and gave him a file folder full of papers and various blue prints. 'DAMN would you ease up? You're so uptight! EVERYTHING is RIGHT there! Everything all the way down to the most minor detail of every house he could be taking her too!" Brian grinned wickedly and thumbed through all the papers, skimming over each and every one carefully, "I always knew here was some SMALL part of your brain that actually worked!" "He busts his ass for you, and THAT is how you treat him??" Kevin questioned, walking into the living room taking a sip of his coffee. Brian looked up and gave him a cold stare. "When I WANT your opinion, I believe I will ASK for it." Kevin cocked an eyebrow at Brian and returned the evil stare. "Hmm, now refresh my memory for me. Didn't you ask us to HELP you create diversions for JC so that he will have to leave her alone at some point or another?" Brian gritted his teeth knowing that he had to act somewhat civil to Nick and Kevin, because without them carrying out another part of the plan at the recording studio, there would be no way JC would leave Melissa's side. That was the most crucial part of the plan if he was to get to her. "Fine... you're right." Brian scowled, "I'm sorry." he said, almost inaudibly. Kevin smirked and raised an amused eyebrow. "What was that Brian? I didn't quite hear you." Nick snickered to himself and looked at Brian. "Don't push it dude." he hissed as he walked up to his room and layed out all the papers that Nick had given him. He studied each one thoroughly, and later decided that JC HAD to have taken Melissa to his house near upstate Florida. It was the PERFECT place. Totally isolated and in the middle of nowhere. "You're not as smart as you THINK you are, Chasez. You ended up taking her to the most OBVIOUS place." Brian said to himself. Brian put all the papers and looked out his window rubbing his hands together and smirked. It was all a matter of timing now. Everything was falling into place. Melissa would soon pay for what she had done to him. It was all just a matter of time. Ten |
