| "So now you're sleeping peaceful, I lie awake and pray that you'll be strong tomorrow, and we'll see another day, and we will praise it, and love the light that brings a smile across your face."-Sarah McLachlan | ||||||
| Drowning out all sound around him, he dashed down the white halls, in search of one thing. "Where where is she?!" he asked out of breath. The receptionist looked at him, strangely. "She?" He growled in frustration. "Aira." The girl nodded. "523. It's on the left." Taking off, once again he sprinted down the hall, not caring the least bit who he hit on his way. Breathless, he flung open the door and burst into her room. Gasping for air, he bent over supporting himself with his hands on his knees. "All tired out, already?" His head snapped up in surprise. She smiled. "Hey you." He grinned, before jumping to his feet and rushing over to her. Holding her arms out to him, he wrapped his arms around her holding her tightly. Upon hearing a moan, he quickly released her. She smiled. "Still tender there." He nodded. "I thought you weren't gonna make it." She smiled and touched his cheek. "I just blacked out. That's all. I'm just thankful you came to your senses and brought me here." He grinned sheepishly. "I know. But, I knew I had to at least do something. I couldn't be helpless." She smiled. "Thanks. For everything." He smiled and kissed her. "Hey, I love you, remember?" She nodded, stroking his cheek. "I remember. And you know I love you, too, right?" He nodded. "Yeah." "I don't think I want to go in." He sighed. "I know, but ya gotta confront this, ok?" She nodded, and walked inside. He watched, as she tried to hide her limp. She insisted on going without a wheelchair. Stubborn is what she was. But that's what he loved about her. Taking a deep breath, she entered the agency she had betrayed and abandoned. Seeing Zak on his cell phone in front of her, she couldn't help but shake her head. To think she had entrusted him with her life He turned and his eyes widened as he saw her. Clicking his phone shut, he strode towards her. Pulling out her gun, she frowned. "Don't make another move." Raising his hands in the air, he laughed nervously. "Aira. Nice to see you." She shook her head. "Zak to think that I trusted you it makes me sick to my stomach. How could you? You knew he'd try to kill me" Zak sighed. "I'm sorry, Aira, really I am, but business is business. Do you have any idea how much you were worth? Solid 3 mil. I couldn't pass something like that up. There was just no way." She nodded. "And Elise?" He shrugged. "She had her own motives. She hated you from the start. Which is why I put you with her Luca never wanted JC. He wanted you. Don't you see? JC was just the bait. You were the catch." She nodded. "Ok, well, that's all there is to say then, huh? As of this moment, I quit. I never want to see you, I never want to even hear your name. Got that? I swear, you try to cross me again, and I will kill you." Well it's 3a.m. I'm out here driving again Through the wicked winding streets of my world I take a wrong turn break it but I'm too far gone I've got a siren on my tale and that's not the fine I'm looking for I see a stairway so I follow it down Into the belly of a whale Where my secrets echo all around You know me now but to do better than that You've got to follow me Boy I'm trying to show you where I'm at Pointing her gun towards the beloved jewel case, which held Zak's most prized fortunes, she pulled the trigger, and watched as glass shattered everywhere. Upon hearing the alarm system go off, she tucked her gun away and spun around on her heel, her long black duster swirling behind her. Besides the alarm, the only thing that could be heard was the clatter of her boots as she strode out. Hey pretty Don't you wanna take a ride with me? Through my world Hey pretty Don't you wanna kick and slide with me Through my world Smiling in triumph, she kicked over the tank of gas, before she emerged outside. Lighting a cigarette, she took a puff before flinging it back. Striding out to the black convertible that awaited her outside, she heard yells before there was an eruption of flames and soon following an explosion. Jumping into the passenger seat, JC looked at her, curiously. She shook her head. "They were murderers. They killed innocent people. Half of them weren't even human anyway. Let's just go." He nodded, and slammed on the gas, streaking out of there. Well I've got a mind full of wicked designs I've got a non-stop-hole in my head-imagination I can't forget I am a sole architect I built the shadows here I built the growl in the voice I fear You know me now but to do better than that You've got to follow me Boy I'm trying to show you where I'm at Epilogue |
