| "Wait! What did I do?!" Zak smiled. "Ah, you didn't do anything, boy. You just have something that me and my crew would like." JC glared at him. "And what would that be?" Zak smiled, and grabbed hold of the pendant that hung around his neck. "This." And with that he jerked it off, breaking the chain. JC's surprised eyes turned to that of rage. Zak held up a hand. "No need to thank me. But, unfortunately, we can't just kill you. We're not done with you yet. The higher powers want to know more about Luca. And guess who's gonna be the one to supply us with the info. we need? That's right, YOU. And if you resist" He shrugged. "Well, we'll just let you see what happens." Aira watched as Zak descended down the hall, and adjusting her shirt, she strolled up to Alec, who was keeping watch on JC. "Hey, Alec." He grinned. "Well, hey there baby." She smiled. "Mind if I go in and take a peek?" He looked around nervously. "Well, ah, I don't know, Aira. Might get me in trouble." She shook her head. "Alec, tell me who is the most respected bounty hunter in this business?" He sighed. "You are." She nodded. "That's right. Now open the door." Alec sighed and unlocked the door, and let her in, shutting it after her. JC looked up as he saw Aira walk in. Eyes darkening, he growled. "You. I should've known." She rolled her eyes. "Be quiet, or someone will hear you." He shrugged. "I don't care." She smiled. "You'd better care, because you're not exactly in a position to be talking back." He looked up at her eyes now blank. "You lied to me. Everything it was a lie." She shook her head and sat down in the chair facing him. "I didn't lie to you. I just didn't tell you who I was." He shrugged. "Same thing. I trusted you." She sighed and lowered her voice. "You think I'm just gonna leave you here to die? Shoot, you should know me well enough by now. I rescued that pretty little behind of yours. I'm not here to mock you and say ha ha, got ya! Jeez. If you'd let me explain. Yes, I am a bounty hunter, and there's a bounty on your head so high whew. But it's aight, cuz you're wanted alive, which is a plus. But once they use you for what they want, well then you're good as dead. You're right, I should've told you that they wanted you. And I'm sorry I didn't. But to make up for it, I'm gonna get ya outta here as soon as I can." He looked up at her. "So, you'd go against you're people to save me?" She shrugged. "Yeah. I mean, you ARE one of the few decent dancers at X" He smiled. "Thanks Aira." She nodded. "No big. Look, I don't exactly know how I'm gonna do this so, ah, got any ideas?" He looked at her, boredly. She swatted at him. "Ok, ok. So this is my place I should know a way. Um, well I guess the best shot would be to get you to the fire escape at the end of the hall. Only trouble there, is Alec's right outside." JC looked at her expectantly. She looked at him confused. He smiled. "You know what to do." She saw the gleam in his eyes and shook her head. "Nuh-uh. No way! Have you seen what that guy looks like? Oh, heck no." He sighed. "Aira, please?" She sighed. "Fine. Ugh, you owe me on this one." He nodded. "Fine, I'll take ya to McDonald's and get ya a Big Mac, aight?" She frowned. "With cheese?" He rolled his eyes. "Whatever suits you." She grumbled under her breath and undid his binds. Now able to see him close up, she saw the bruise starting to form on his left cheek and she ran a hand over it tenderly. "I'm sorry." She said, quietly. He grabbed her hand away and shook his head. "Don't worry." She nodded. "I promise I'll make it up to you somehow." He smiled and kissed the back of her hand. "I know ya will. Now get out there." She nodded, "You be ready to come out and run to the right. I'll meet up with you outside." Walking out into the barely-lit hall, she smiled seductively at Alec. "Ya know, there's just something about guys all tied up, that excites me. What bout you?" she asked, tracing her finger over his throat. He coughed. "Um, sure I guess." She smiled. "Alec didn't you once tell me that you wanted me?" He cleared his throat. "I'm sure I have and who wouldn't, Aira?" She shrugged. "I don't know. Who cares?" She pushed him back towards the wall, covering his lips with hers. Peering out, JC saw she had distracted him alright. Creeping past, he looked back and felt a twinge of jealousy as he saw her kissing him. Shaking his head, he took off toward the fire escape, hoping there wasn't anyone below waiting for him. After being sure JC had past, Aira pushed him away, and regained her breathing. "Not as good as I thought Alec. Sorry, sweetie." Fixing her shirt, she walked down the hall. After walking outside, she walked over to the fire escape looking for JC. After not seeing him, she began to wonder where he went. Maybe he had went back to wherever he came from. She couldn't help but feel upset that he had just left. Walking home, she unlocked the door, and walked in, shutting and locking it behind her. Taking off her jacket and tossing it to the floor, she removed her boots, and threw them where they wouldn't get in her way. Glancing up, she jumped up, startled. "Wh what are you doing here?!" The gray figure merely smiled and inched closer. Five |
