Chapter Five
"Violate all my love that I'm missing, throw away all my pain that I'm living, you will believe me, and I can never be ignored."-Garbage
"JC why are you looking at me like that?" He didn't say anything, just advanced towards her. "You're scaring me. Why'd you go and run off?" He shrugged. "It wasn't safe for me there." She frowned, concerned. "It's not any safer  for you here, either ya know." He shook his head, now so close she could feel his breath on her face. "I feel completely safe. I'm here with you." She looked at him quizzically as he backed her into the corner. "What" He raised a finger to her lips. "Sssh. Don't say anything." Trembling she quieted, and he ran his hand along the side of her face before gripping the back of her neck, slamming her  against him. In one swift motion he lowered his head to hers attacking her lips with such furiousity, it surprised even him.

After a few passion-filled moments she pulled away, pushing him back roughly. "What was that?!" He sighed and hung his head. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to force myself on you it's just when I saw you kissing Alec it sparked something and I wanted nothing more than to be the one against the wall kissing you. Aira you drive me insane and no matter how hard I've tried I can't get you out of my mind." She growled in frustration. "I hate you, you know that?! Hate you!" Grabbing him by the shirt she yanked him to her, covering his lips with hers. He gripped at her clothes trying to pull her closer to him. She intrigued him, and he had never felt this way before. It was a good feeling and he'd be damned if he lost it. Pulling away gently, he looked down at her, breathing ragged. She sat down and looked outside the window. "I don't hate you, you know. I hate the way you make me feel, but I don't hate you."

He smiled, now pulling her into his arms, rocking her gently. She sighed. "This only makes things more difficult you know." He nodded, resting his cheek on top of her head. "I know. And it doesn't matter. We'll make it." She glanced at the clock which read 2:30. "It's really late. I'm most likely going to have an early start tomorrow morning once they find you gone. Do you have somewhere you can disappear to while I'm gone?" He nodded. "Yeah. I have a place." She nodded. "Alright. Will will you stay here tonight?" He smiled. "Yeah. I'll stay." He picked her up into his arms and carried her to the bedroom.

Aira awoke to the sun streaming through the window, something very rare for New York. She turned to see JC fast asleep and she smiled, feeling awful about having to wake him. She traced her finger along his features, memorizing every line in his face. His eyes fluttered open and he smiled. "Hey there." He said, softly. She smiled. "Hey yourself." JC rubbed his eyes sleepily. "What time is it?" She looked over at her clock and jumped up in surprise. "It's already after 8 they have to know you're gone. And all evidence is going to point to me." He sighed. "Don't go back. Maybe you should come with me." She shook her head. "I'm not a wuss. I don't run from my battles." He looked down. "What about Luca?" She shrugged. "I never ran from him." He nodded and kissed her cheek. "Don't worry. It'll all work out. I'll be back tonight to make sure you're ok, alright?" She nodded. "Ok. Let me go first to make sure there's no one around." He nodded, and watched as she got up to go shower and change.

He felt awful keeping things from her, but that was just the way it had to be right now. He couldn't tell her not yet. He had just gotten her he didn't want to lose her yet.

Standing, he grabbed his boots and duster and pulled them on, and watched as she came out, wet hair pulled back into two buns in the back of her head. Smiling, she kissed him, and left. Making sure the coast was clear, she walked throughout the alleys, making sure her gun was close enough to reach in case of emergency. She  headed for the closest coffee shop and grabbed her morning coffee before heading in. Putting on a straight, innocent face she walked in, mobbed by people yelling on cell phones. Elise walked up, and glared at her. "Guess what?" Aira looked at her dumbly. "Huh?"

"He's gone. Angel Eyes is gone." Aira's jaw dropped open. "He's WHAT?" Elise nodded. "Yeah. And ya know, some people can't help but wonder, if YOU had anything to do with it." Aira snickered. "The boy was a pansy. Why would I want to have any dealings with someone as wimpy as that? Please, Elise." She brushed past her, heading into the giant meeting room, where she found Zak pacing. "AIRA!" She looked at him, boredly. "Sup Zak." He frowned and through gritted teeth, said, "You are to patrol the streets tonight. You find me that boy or else." She rolled her eyes. "Or else what?" The room fell silent and he looked at her, eyes cold. "Or else you're the one who pays."

"Do we have a name yet?" The girl looked at the voice and smiled. "Her name's Aira. She's Isabel and Louis's kid." Luca's mouth fell open before letting out a deep throaty laugh. "Ahh, Lora, my dear, imagine the odds." She grinned as she sat down in his lap. "Everything's going according to your plan now what about JC? What are we going to do about him? He has relations with that girl." Luca shrugged. "It's of no worry. Once she finds out who he really is, she'll be no bother."

"JC? Are you here?! JC??!!!" she yelled, eyes darting around the room frantically. Emerging, towel wrapped around his waist, hair dripping, he looked at her worried. "Aira? Is everything ok?" She sighed, slumping down in her chair. "No. It's not. They said if I don't find you, they'll kill me instead." Kneeling down in front of her, he kissed her forehead softly. "No they won't. I won't let them." She shrugged miserably. "If you say so." Sighing, he tilted her chin to look into his eyes. "You can come to my place." She shook her head. "It's not safe for you, there." He smiled. "I can hold my own, I promise. Besides, they don't know where I live, I can pretty much guarantee it." Her eyes relaxed, and a smile slid over her face, as she stood and walked towards the bathroom.

"Ya know, that towel looks really good on you, just to let you know." He shook his head, grinning. "I'll take that as a" He trailed off, upon hearing the slamming of the door. His grin turned upside down into a frown, as he banged on the door. "HEY! Aira! That isn't funny! I wasn't done!!!"
