| ~* I can see that you've been crying You can't hide it with a lie What's the use in you denying The words you have at home*~ The young dark-haired woman sat alone in her dark empty apartment, watching the rain fall against the window. She glanced over at the clock which read 10:30. Still not here. He hadnt even called to tell her that he was going to be late. She sighed in defeat. She had no idea why she stayed with him maybe it was fear fear of being alone She didnt know. All she knew was that she was tired of this. Tired of staying up until he finally came back from wherever he was. She jumped as she heard the phone ring and jogging over she picked it up. Hello? He back yet? She sighed. Of course hes not. The man on the other end groaned. Nikkie why are you still with him then? Cant you see whats hes doing? I can guarantee you right now, hes out with his friends, drinking and havin a good ol time while you sit at home, watching the rain. She rolled her eyes. It really sucks being your best friend, you know that right? He chuckled. So Ive been told. ~* I heard him promise you forever But forevers come and go Baby he would say whatever It takes to keep you alive Tell the truth between the lines*~ She sighed. Look, Id better go, in case He rolled his eyes. Dont gimme that. Youve got call waiting and you know it. So quit with the excuses. Ya know, you really shouldnt be there alone. She groaned. Fine then! Why dont you get over here? His eyes widened. Uh.. ok. Ill be there in a few minutes. He hung up the phone and sighed. Little did she know that hed been in love with her since oh, forever? And yet, hed always been considered the best friend. The shoulder to cry on. He grabbed his jacket and keys, and slowly headed for her house. A few minutes later she heard a knock and ran to get it. Mike? The man behind the door closed his eyes. No, Nik, its me. She opened the door. Oh, yeah, sorry JC. I knew that I was just hoping He held up a hand. Yeah, I know. I brought movies. She smiled. You are a lifesaver. ~*Oh I will love you more than that I won't say those words, then take them back Don't give loneliness a chance Baby listen to me when I say I will love you more than that*~ He shut the door behind him and walked in and plopped down on the couch. Whadaya wanna watch first? She frowned as she debated what she wanted. This. She said as she handed him Here on Earth. I love this movie. And its been awhile since Ive seen it. He nodded and put it in and they settled back to watch the movie. He smiled as he saw she had fallen asleep. Carefully, he picked her up and carried her into her room and laid her in the bed. He tucked her in and brushed away a strand of hair away from her face. He bent down and gently kissed her forehead before getting up and lingering in the doorway. Bye Nikkie. He smiled sadly and walked out. ~* Baby you deserve much better What's the use in holding on Don't you see it's now or never Just why you can't be friends Baby knowing in the end*~ Bye JC. She said softly as she heard the door close behind him. She curled up and buried her face into her pillow and cried herself to sleep. Where the hell where you last night?! I waited for you and you dont even have the decency to call! I dont need this! Mike sighed. Nikkie, baby, Im sorry I had things I needed to take care of. I promise tonight is just me and you, alright? She sighed, unsure of whether to believe him or not. Fine. She growled in anger as she hurled the baseball against the picture frame. JC banged on the door from outside. NIKKIE! Let me in, NOW! She sighed and looked over at the door. Go away she said weakly. NO! I swear I will break it down if you dont open the damn door! ~*And I will love you more than that I won't say those words, then take them back Don't give loneliness a chance Baby listen to me when I say*~ She sighed and opened it, before lunging into his arms, crying. He promised JC he told me hed be here He kicked the door shut with his foot and carried her inside and placed her on the couch. Ssshhh. Nikkie, you know this isnt right. End it already. You deserve so much better than him. She shook her head. No.. no I dont. This is the way its supposed to be. JC shook his head firmly. No. Its not. You look at me. Slowly, she raised her head to look into his sincere eyes. You do NOT deserve this. I know that for a fact. Why dont you leave him, Nik? She sighed. Im scared. He sighed. Of what? She shrugged. I dont know I just am, ok? He pulled her into his arms and rocked her slowly back and forth. ~* There's not a day that passes by I don't wonder why we haven't tried It's not too late to change your mind And take my hand, don't say goodbye*~ Cmon, Nikkie. Is it because youre afraid theres no one else? That there isnt anyone who loves you? Nikkie, whatever you and Mike have is NOT love. She sighed. Well, then there isnt anyone who loves me. He shook his head. No, no, NO! That is NOT true. Nikkie, I love you. Her eyes widened at the sound of his words. You you what? He stood up and covered his face. I hate seeing you like this.. All torn up over someone who couldnt love you nearly as much as I can. ~* Oh I will love you more than that I won't say those words, then take them back Don't give loneliness a chance Baby listen to me when I say*~ She stood up as well and pulled him to her. Oh, JC I I love you, too. I was just always afraid that if you ever found out, youd just laugh and walk away He shook his head. I would never do that. She smiled through her tears. I know that now. What are you going to do now? She sighed. The only thing I know what TO do. She reached up and put her arms around his neck and kissed him, knowing that she was safe and that she did deserve better than Mike. And JC was much, much better. The End! Home |
