1. EDITING OK ok, this subject has had the most praise and the most controversy.. I must honestly say, how the editied if youve neaver seen uncut dragon ball, you probabaly coudnt tell the difference... but those that have are so ready to kill Saban and FUNi...(saban had dbz for series 1) I mean, blood cutting out understandable... simple things like that... but like for the first episode what was wrong with all that stuf?!?!!? nothing!, they just wanted to make it shorter and to the point... not cool... I will commend them, there cutitn less and less out, but still theres still the fact that theres editiing, up the ratin to mature teens and keep the stuff as is, whats wrong with that???? man, I dont want to spend 26 bucks for 4 epioseds of uncut and original format for dvd... im broke man, I dont wanna spend ALL my money on this stuff, I have other thing beconing me... clothes, jewlery, blue hair dye!! lol jk, but still... and if you only have cable and cant get the international channel like me, your in a jam... or you just dont know when dbz comes on the spanish channel(what time again?) or dont understand spanish your in a jam too.... sucks dosent it? well thats all for editig, Ill add more, about this subject when my brain leaves the mental lapse... ja ne'
2.VOICES/DUBBING- *shutters* egghhhhh.... here we go, one of the things I hate most about american DBZ... Ok, I have figured out in the first series that pioneer helped with, they had many of there voice actors do them... (watch trigun, gundam, akira, and digimon) same circle of voices and dbz was added to that circle... only beef I have with it is that when FUNI packed it up from were they first were located, they tried to get voice actors to imitate the original ones..Which it didnt work to well, some were fooled... but come on yall... lets not be nieve with ourselves... they suck... and some of the voice actors can be a bit rude... I mean this by when Scean Schemeal was asked what he thought about the original Gokuh voice his comment was "it was a woman for petes sake!" Which makes no scence to me because chibi trunks american voice is now being done by a female... which is like what the hell? Its ok for american women to do guys voices but not ok for japanese women to do em'? But I like many other truly wished they tried to match with the american voices with the original japanese voises.. But I will give Scean Schemeal and brian drummond and the many other voice actors there... there getting a lot better fomr there first episode... eegghhhh lets not even get into those episodes though.. they were just really really bad... *shutters remembering them.* >-<
3.NAME CHANGES- this isn't a big deal for most but for me it is. A few name changes are acceptable like vedil from bederu and begeta to vegeta. mainly because the way you have the 'B' and 'E' next to each other the way it would be pronounced would sound like 'V'. Kiririn i another acception the double or 'RI' a lot of time sounds like the 'L' sound if said fast enoufe. Some names however do rather piss me off. Like Hercule , what the hell were they thinking changing Mr. Satan to Hercule? I know, Satin "the devil" but to change it to Hercule? they could be a bit more creative, I know there trying to compensate for it by calling him Hercule Satan but the damage has been done.Tenshenhan is another one, I completely forgot about him till bra pointed it out on her site, but anyways, tenshenhan to Tien? Lettering like that is virtually non- existant. Why changed? For little kids to understand and say his name, I thought this show was for mature audience hmmm.... only once I recall them calling him Tenshenhan or 'Tienshenhan' Sayajin saga ring a bell? My most biggest peeve I'd have to say is Funi and saban getting rid of the 'son' family, well the family name (gokuh gohan and goten) thats there last name so to speak... But not using it as often as in the Japanese version understandable cause americans dont put my infasis to last name or rank them as high as the Japanese do, but compeletly getting rid of it, unacceptable.... but for now Im glad to say they didnt change many names in the buu saga, cause im getting a kick out of the american version saying supopabitchi, cause i love it how only like2 of them can say it (scean schemmeal and kevin somin or other) every one else says super bitch...I LOVE IT! the part were they look like idiots at least... how hard it it to say supopovitchy? im getting a kick out of it ^-^ (yes vitchy thats how they changed it)
