Here's.....Max's mom..... My name is Sue, and I live in Rochester, NY. I am happily single, and work as an office manager for a small advertising company. I am 47, but dont look it :) I am owned by three wonderful felines
Max is my love bug. I adopted him in 1992, when I wanted a Russian Blue, but wanted to rescue a homeless cat. A friend found Max for me, knowing I would give him a loving home. Max was headed to the shelter if I didnt take him. He is a very smart cat, and has me wrapped right around his heart. Max is 12-13 years old, and has kidney failure. Hes doing very well for the time being, and hasnt needed any special therapies yet.

Trance is a very special little girl. I adopted her a year ago from my local Humane Society, so shes very happy to be a spoiled, well-loved cat. She is a talker being shes part Siamese. She shares the same birthday with me on Nov. 23, and just turned 3. She is a sweet natured cat, and lives on my lap.
Merlin, oh what can I say about this little clown! I adopted Merlin in August 2002 when he was 4 months old. He was living in Ohio and needed a new home. I saw a post on the old Acme CW board about this baby, and decided I wanted him. He is a joy, and a charmer. He sleeps with me at night, usually by lying right across my face, or kneading my shoulder with his big feet! Merlin has worked his magical spell on me, and on Max and Trance..

Name -- Melissa Cats -- Domino, Skitter, the infamous rainbow angel George da Orange (aka G da O), and Boo Boo
End!
George, as you know, is the co-founder of DaFURR, and keeps me busy with his insatiable demands. Domino is a prissy, spoiled, black and white foofy girl who loves to aggravate her brother, then squeal to get him in trouble. Skitter is my big girl, a blue-cream tortie, who doesn't like to be bothered much, but who will very occassionally decide to cuddle-but only on her own terms.
I'm 26, and live at home with my parents. I am in college now and hope to be an English teacher in a few years. I collect Enesco's Calico Kittens, read, and post on the cat board-that's my life! Email me at: [email protected]
Meet.....Nancyszoo My real name is Nancy Houston and I live in western Maryland, at the foot of the beautiful Catoctin Mountains. I work full time at an ornamental Koi and goldfish farm in the aquatic plants division and part time as a veterinary assistant at the local clinic. I do foster care for both the Animal Welfare League and several rescues. I am also a painter and sell my works on line. Those of you wishing to see my work can log on to www.paintingsdirect.com and search Nancy Houston. I am owned by 9 cats, and a dog who keep me on my toes at all times. Theres Dali..empress of the universe, a grey tabby borg, whos imperial nature shines through at all times. She has a big belly that hangs down, which has spurred a new term at the vet clinic that refers to any cat with a pendulous belly, the Dali-Belly Diego is her consort. The Prince Phillip to her Queen Elizabeth. Diego is an orange tabby and about as easy going as they come. Dali and Diego would be lost without each other. Quatro is Diegos brother and was givin to me because he had aggression problems. He is a huge and gentle boy and has exhibited none of the problems he was surrendered for. Handsome is a ragdoll and my first bottle baby. I found him half frozen to death at about 5 days old. He is now my alpha male despite his chronic allergies and upper respiratory problems. He has the most beautiful bright blue eyes! Winsome is another bottle baby rescued from the local feed mill at about 2 weeks old. Hes grey and white and a real cuddly boy. He loves to be held and snuggled so he can drool all over you! Misha is handsomes sister. She is a very sweet grey and white tabby who loves the highest perch on the cat tree. She was the last of her litter and couldnt be placed. I took her in temporarily..that was almost 5 years ago. Jenny is also a grey and white tabby. She was givin to me to socialize because she was unfortunately kenneled for the first several months of her life. Jenny has had many challenges but has gotten to the point where she is comfortable in the house. It became clear after the first 2 weeks that Jen was un adoptable. She still has many behavioral issues but is coming along just fine. Dimitri the Thug is mostly white with orange tabby spots. He was turned in to the clinic to be euthanized for chronic bladder problems. I had his owners sign him over to me. I paid his medical bills for treatment and he is now a joyful addition to the zoo. His urinary problems have all but vanished after several weeks of manually expressing his bladder and proper diet. Hes a real monster and tends to bully any cat that will let him get away with it. Punkin is a tortie and my newest addition. She was part of a colony I was feeding and TNR. Punkins colony was wiped out by distemper as were her remaining kittens. She has adjusted beautifully to being an inside cat and loves to play with any and all toys.

Hello! Well to start I am Michelle, 22 years old, and i live in San Diego, CA. In April of 2003, i moved to Los Angeles from Portland, OR. When i got there, i didnt know anyone and was pretty lonely. So i looked in ads for kittens, and went to a house to look at some. I came home with a tiny black kitten, only about 3 or 4 weeks old. I thought it was a girl, then thought it was a boy, then a girl...i kept going back and forth. So i named "it" Hermy, short for hermaphrodite, it was kind of a joke at first, but then the name stuck. Anyhow , hermy turned out to be a boy, and i never told him why i named him that hehe. In June, i decided to move down to San Diego from LA. Hermy needed a friend, so i called the house i got him from to see if they had any more kittens. Oh wait, let me back up, the first time i went to this house, Hermy was in a TINY BIRD CAGE ( maybe for a parakeet), with another kitten, and some food on the floor of the cage. I know...i kicked myself for not taking them both that day! They said " yes there is one left, and it would be great if someone would take her, i only really have time to feed her once in awhile"!! OMG, so i picked her up on my way to San Diego. She is a cute little black and white kitty, so i named her Moo. Odd i know lol, but i have a weird sense of humor! Well Moo, was pretty sick. Yucky eye infection, very skinny, covered in huge fleas, dirty, just a mess. I took her and hermy to the vet that same day. Hermy weighed about 4.5 lbs, Moo 2 lbs, and they are from the same litter. The vet couldnt believe they were litter mates, because Hermy looked great and healthy, and Moo sick and skinny. I got meds for her, and within a few weeks she was good as new! I just recently got her fixed, and she weighed 7 lbs, so that is great. Ok now to the sad part. A little over a month ago, hermy got out, and i haven't seen him since. All the neighboors said coyotes got their cats : /. I live on a canyon. Moo has been so sad since he has been gone. I give her lots of extra attention and spoil her with toys. She will be getting a playmate soon. I just wish Hermy would come back. I miss my cuddly little boy. Well thats my story!

Mary G -- My name is Mary (too obvious?) I am 42, which I find incredibly hard to believe, I *feel* like I should be 32. How did I lose 10 years of my life?? I am single, never married, no kids. Doubt I will ever get married.. I am very happy living alone except for days like today when I needed a new kitchen faucet and had to get a guy to help me with it. Those are the times I wish there was a hubby to do whatever chore it is, but beyond stuff like that - who needs them? ;) I work as a software tester for a company who makes video editing systems. I like my job most of the time, love my job some of the time, seldom hate my job. I love my company - it's an awesome company, and I could easily be a lifer there. I wanted to work at this company so badly that at age 32 when I got laid off from my accounting job I went back to school full-time to get me the degree that would get me in the company. Graduated in May, was hired in July. That was awesome :) My company is the leader in the industry, probably 90% of everything you see on TV or in the movies was edited or created using our software. That's pretty cool :) My company has won several Emmy awards, and just this year won it's second Oscar, first one for technological advancements in the film industry, the second one (this year) was for our audio division, and their amazing audio software that is used in everything from motion picture mixing to music - mixing for CDs. We had an Oscar party for the first one, everyone got a chance to hold Oscar and have their picture taken with him - that statue is very heavy! That was a very cool moment - holding an Oscar:) Since my work revolves around video and graphics and multimedia, I tend to do a lot of that on the side as well. My hobbies, guess you could say. I'm in the middle of editing a two hour performance that I produced and shot back in january, and I currently have a documentary and a music video shot, and waiting to get done. I've recently gotten into scrapbooking, and have a big project I'm working on for my mother's birthday at the end of June. I love photography, but don't really have time for it right now. I don't really like taking the pictures as much as I do printing them - I would love to have my own darkroom, and just print pictures all day long. Someday.....:) Love to read, but rarely have time to read these days. End up reading magazines because they are so quick and easy. I have a pile of unread books about three feet high now, and I keep going into Borders and buying more! sheeesh. My latest thing is - clogging! I recently joined a clogging group with a friend of mine, we've been going about 5 weeks I guess, and we are both totally hooked! It is just so much fun - we both love it. Clogging is not with wooden shoes, like most people think.. you actually wear tap shoes, and it's sort of a cross between tap dancing and Irish step dancing. That's how it seems to me anyway. The group we joined meets on Monday nights, and we actually started a group at work too, there are about 7 of us who now clog every Friday at lunchtime. I bought a condo last summer - my first home! That was cool. I am the president of the condo association, so that keeps me pretty busy too. I started doing Atkins last fall, and have lost about 60 pounds so far. I joined Curves and go a few times a week, plus I do water aerobics at another gym a few times a week. So between work, the gym, clogging, video editing, scrapbooking stuff and condo association stuff, my life is pretty much non-stop right now. I can't even imagine having kids or a husband! And that's why I rarely have time to sit down and read a good book, or keep completely up to date on what's going on with the board. I do try to read the board regularly tho, even tho my posting seems to go in spurts. This is an awesome group of people.. and I'm very glad that I found the old Cats Window board on Acme :)
George da Orange passed away on February 26th. I began looking for another special orange boy soon after, and found Boo Boo, who was then called Thomas, on Petfinder. He came to live with us on Saturday, March 12, 2005. He drives his sisters crazy, and he's not the brightest cat I've ever met, but we couldn't do without him now.
