mmm
My youngest at the age of 4 years and
2 months and 12 days old, born on
May 28th 1999 at 4: 14 p.m. is my
sweet little doll "
Miss Pootie". She is
a calico kitty and the daughter of
"Morris" in which you will be introduced
to below. She was born feet first and I
was going to call her "Wrong-Way" but
thought it was inappropriate for a little
girl. "Pooky" is her real born and given
name but we call her "Poots" and
"Tumbleweeds" as nicknames. Her
favorite foods are "Deli Ham" and
"Deli Turkey". She enjoys head-butts
and soft ear rubs but does not like to  be rough
housed around. She enjoys sleeping on the nightstand at night so she can easily look out the window to see what is going on. She enjoys sitting on the bannisters on the front porch and inspects the birds as they come to the feeders.

Meet Pammers...

I'm the mother of 2 wonderful young men, ages 21 and 23, and also have a brilliant 13 year old daughter
:) We live way up in the thumb of Michigan - aka the middle of nowhere.  Winston was our first cat; my husband and I picked him from a litter of "Free to Good Home" kittens.  Unfortunately we later had to rehome him as he found it impossible to live with other cats.
Heeeeeeeeere's......
Onie and KK's Mom
Real name:  Becky
Location:   Western Montana
Cats:
KK: 3 (birthday approx. Oct. 2000) and
Onie: 9 months (birthday approx. April 2002)
About us:
My first cat was a shorthaired calico (Patches), we got her at a church fair when I was 12.  She still lives with my parents, and has recently developed diabetes.  :( She's a fat happy old cat nonetheless, and never forgets who I am when I visit her.

My husband and I finally were in a situation where we could have pets (just cats) in 2001.  We got
KK through a free ad in the paper; a family had adopted a stray, spayed her, gave her her shots, and were going to make her their 'barn cat'.  Well, she enjoyed being inside too much, and allergies prevented them from keeping her.  When we went to pick her up, she was still super wild; it took a good half hour just to corner her so I could pick her up.  We TRIED to make her a strictly indoor cat, but she sank into a kitty 'depression' (wouldn't eat, slept all the time).  One day she snuck outside and has been a happy indoor/outdoor cat ever since.  Our entire neighborhood has pretty much 'adopted' her; but she's home every afternoon...
KK is a very social cat.  However, every 'buddy' she found ended up getting killed (mostly run over, luckily KK is scared to death of the road, won't go near it).  That, along with other reasons, we decided to get another cat.  Another free ad, another stray cat.  Onie was a 5-month old kitten that had been roaming the wilderness outside of our town with her mama.  The ad said 'calico', but Onie was more unique than that.  We're not sure WHAT she is, her spots aren't something I've ever seen on a tabby before.  Anyway, she is a strictly indoor cat, loves to play fetch, and never stops purring.  She's not very cuddly right now, but I'm hoping that develops with age.
I graduated a year ago with a teaching degree (high school business, computers and english), but right now I'm working for a software company.  This summer I'm going to seriously pursue a teaching career in either Washington, Idaho or Nevada, and we'll pack our bags and furbabies out of Montana.  Hubby's a chef, so he can go anywhere.  :)

Tigger and Salem came as a pair.  They were strays who were always together.Their mission was to move in to my house.  No matter which room we were in, there they were at the window scratching and begging.  My husband said absolutely no way could they come in.  He was still saying it as he coaxed  them in through the kitchen window.
Baby Ashley was next.  She showed up at the door tiny and sick, looking so adorable that there was really no choice but to bring her in.  My husband gave me 3 days to find a home for her.  I didn't have to.  From the second she came inside her goal was to win his heart.  She succeeded quite well and has since become Daddy's Little Girl.
Flat Polly Hiss-n-Spit is our FINAL cat.  She showed up as a stray, starving and pregnant.  We just couldn't bring her in so we decided to vet her and set her up with a nice  little home in the yard.  We brought her in long enough to recover from her spay and, well, she's still here.  Polly was January's Martyr of the Month.

You can read her terrible tale of woe
here
UPDATE:

Okay, so Polly wasn't the last cat.  We recently adopted beautiful little
Tucker - the friendliest and most talkative little bugger you ever saw.  He endeared himself to my husband one day while my husband was working outside...next thing you know he's moved himself in.  What could I do?

Tucker is absolutely without a doubt positively our final cat.  No more!

unless you're a stray cat, in which case you probably don't have internet access anyway.  Thank goodness.

SALUTATIONS Everyone!

I am happy that you have decided to stop by for the opportunity to read my Bio here at Acme's Cat board. Sit back and relax and stroke your whiskers and purr and meow as I fill you in on my wonderful life as a cat-mom and introduce you to the finicky felines that "Rule The Roost" around here! But first, allow me to introduce myself to you......At the time of this transcript on August 9th 2003, my board name is "Panther". I decided on this name because of my old High School mascot being the "Panthers" from Union County High School in Blairsville, Ga. where the colors are Purple and Gold and where I graduated in 1980.My REAL name is "Delores Barnes". I lived there all of my life for 22 years until I married in April of 1985 to a wonderful man and my best friend. We now reside in beautiful Hiawassee, Ga. in a little community called "Scataway" which got its name way back over 200 years ago when moonshiners use to "scat-away" to the caves and mountain tops getting away from the Marshall and etc. Some of those old stills were left behind, you just gotta know where they are!!

Any way, we are nestled here amongst the biggest and best fair in the state of Georgia, the Georgia Mountain Fair which is in process at this moment. And now to introduce to you my feline wonder kids----------
My next kitty is "Morris". He is Poots Daddy. I got Morris from my mother-in-law when he was just a few months old. His Moma was a pure-bred Himalayan Blue Point. His Daddy is "Old Garf" in which you will be introduced to below. When I brought him home with me he was badly constipated and covered with fleas. I gave him some mineral oil in some warm milk and a good flea bath and it wasnt long afterwards he "Got things up and going!" I am not exactly sure or can remember when he was born but he is around 9 or 10 years old or so. He is a beige/golden tan color.
My oldest cat is "Old Garf" short for "Garfield". He is about 12 years old and I got him at a yard sale. He was the last kitty left and no one wanted him because of his deformed ears but there was something special about him that I loved dearly. I brought him home and this big bright orange color kitty was named Garfield because he had leaped up on the table and got in my bowl of left over lasagna. The first thing I thought of was how this reminded me of the cartoon "Garfield", so therefore the name Garfield.
I would like to let you know about my
Rainbow Angel kitty "
Miss Flipper".
She was a sister to "Pooky". She was
3 years old when she passed away from
a possible neck injury on Christmas Day,
1999. Pooky was just a few months old.
I never knew how much I could love a
pet or miss a pet until after Flipper
passed away and got this computer
and started visiting ACME. She was a
calico kitty as well but her life with us
was just too short. I only have 3 pictures
of her that were "candid" shots. She just
happened to be in the pics I was taking at
the time. All I have now are the sweet  memories of her frolicking around the  house, snatching my washclothes and socks as I tried to fold them up and put them away. She was the apple of my eye. Even tho I still have the other 3 they never will replace her or take her place. But I am realizing how much I love them because of how much I loved her. I know I will see her again someday, and I know she is in good company with my Father who recently passed away on May 11th 2003. I know that he is taking good care of Flipper and Flipper is taking good care of my Father too.

Well, there you have it folks. I will occassionally be updating this Bio as I can think of things I need to add so please check back freely. The webpages listed need to be updated but because they were basically designed by Catlady Di and she is the primary carrier, I have been unable and unsuccessful in contacting her to update them but please enjoy the pictures and etc. that are on them.((((HUGS to you ALL))))

Love always: The "Panther"

PS:  Coming soon, pics of my ferret, Buddy Rabbit.

Miss Flipper
My name is Shannon. I'm 24 years old, live in British Columbia, Canada, and share my life with a flame point meezer mix named Sydney, and a big goofy blue heeler mix named Indiana.

Sydney is 9 months old, and was born to an orange tabby stray the day that she was rescued (lucky girl and lucky kitties!).

When Sydney was with her rescuer, she had some pretty severe focusing and balance problems. The vet recommended euthanasia, but Sydney's rescuer wasn't ready to give up. She took Syd to a homeopathic vet, who prescribed belladonna and causticum. Within 24 hours, Sydney was a brand new kitty.

I was warned that Syd may have problems with her eyes not working properly, but to date she has been 100% normal (besides some meezerly cross-eyedness!).

Phantom came into my life October 25, 2000.  It was a cold, dark night and my dad had seen a kitten out front.  There were very few stray cats in that neighbourhood, so I went outside to investigate.

Once across the street, this tiny black and white kitten leaped into my arms.  One stroke down her back, and I could feel how skinny she was.  Of course I couldn't leave her the way she was, so in the house she came.  We were not cat people (LOL, or so I thought!), but my parents agreed to let me keep her until she was all fixed up.

It was touch and go for several weeks, and I nearly lost her a few times.  She was a fighter though, and I was extremely attached and equally determined.  She finally pulled through after many costly vet visits.  Needless to say, she never left.

Phantom was my heart kitty, she only ever purred once, and that was once she was getting better.  That same day, she gave me a kiss on my nose and let me know just how much she loved me.  Phantom was never 100% healthy, but she grew to be an absolutely stunning girl.

She had this wonderful habit of wanting to smell everyone's breath.  An open mouth was never safe!  She also loved watching "her birdies" at the birdfeeder outside of "her window".  She rarely shared this pastime with her sisfur, Sydney.  Phantom wanted those birdies all to herself!

At the end of July 2003, Phantom started to lose weight rapidly, and soon was only eating what she was forcefed.  Bloodwork revealed that she had FIP.

Phantom left me on August 7, 2003.  I will forever have a kitty shaped hole in my heart, but knowing her, even for a short while, is thousands times better than never having that chance.  She was a once-in-a-lifetime kitty.
The beautiful Sydney
She has the evil kitty look down pat!

Board name: sammis mom

Hooman name:
Karen

Cats:

Samantha Mulder (birthdate approx. Sept. 15, 1994)

Handsome (birthdate unknown, hes approx. the same age as Sammi)

I live with my husband,
Eric, and our two wonderful cats in Natick, Massachusetts.

Sammi got her name because she looked like a little alien baby when I adopted herall her pieces were the wrong size; head too small for her body, ears and eyes too large for her head, back paws the size of kangaroos, and chubby front paws. So I named her after Fox Mulders sister on The X-Files, the girl who was abducted by aliens.

She is a strange polydactyl; she has only four toes instead of five on her front paws. She has no thumbs, so when she grabs something she does it by hugging it to herself. Very cute. And her back pawsshes got six toes on each, instead of four, so her back paws are rather like clown shoes. As a result, she has quite a powerful launch and is a graceful and mighty jumper.  She is pure white and is a pure joy. Not a manipulating bone in her little guileless body. Shes my sweet angel and I love her to pieces.

Handsome came named that way from the shelter, and he certainly is. He is the king of all he surveys, and he is constantly thinking, which is a bad thing. If you read the comic strip Get Fuzzy, he IS Bucky Katt, except he is smarter. He is a master manipulator and proud of it. His attitude fills the house, and we adore him, which he feels is simply his due. Hes a dark-gray smoke tabby; his fur looks like dark gray velvet with faint tabby markings, but the roots of his fur are white, which gives him a glowing effect.

I still miss my Rainbow Angel
Shayna, who went to the bridge on August 25, 2000. She was my furry soulmate and not a day goes by that I dont think of her.

So what are you to do when a totally irresistable little torbie kitty comes running to your door looking for help because she's scared and alone and has no place to go?  Well, you bring her in.

Maybe you can find a home for this one.  That's a plan. A good plan.  You absolutely can't afford to keep any more cats.

Just be careful, because while you're trying to make arrangements to get this kitty to her wonderful new home you just might fall in love, and then you won't be able to give her up.

And that's the story of
Smidget and how she became our absolute, without a doubt, last, final, no more ever, cat.
Hello Everyone!  My name is Trisha Lynn Evix.

I am 24 years old and have two cats and a husband.  I've been working for Trus Joist, a Weyerhaueser Business for five years now.  I work in manufacturing Microllam and Parallam products.  Basically, we make floor joists, house frames, and beams.

I am
Viv's daughter and next door neighbor.  I just got married in April, so I still miss Junior, Poofy, and Autumn.  Of course Mom got a new addition to the family in the summer time.. Of course her name is Summer..  I have two cats of my own.  My oldest is Bootsy.  He is a tuxedo kitty.  He is so pretty.  My inlaws kept him for a year till my husband and I got married and got into our house.  Then, a month before us moving into our home, my husband's aunt's cat had a litter of beautiful kittens.  So I picked another tuxedo kitty.  This one was a female.  We named her Cassie.  She is now seven months old.  We actually call her Cassie Pumpkin because of the country song "Country Bumpkin".  Cassie has a little white milk dribble marking on her chin, so I would go around singing, "Well hello there Cassie Pumpkin, she's got a milk stain on her chin-chin"... :D

I am hoping to have some pictures of my Babies sometime soon...
UPDATE:

Oh heck.......meet Colby Jack.
ummmm........UPDATE:

Did you ever have one of those days?  You know, like when you realize that you've become known in the neighborhood as the "crazy cat lady" and you find  that even the stray kitties know who you are?
Our pretty background kitty, Angel,  was painted by Vickie Moore,
known on the AMCE board as "
m"
You can see more of Vickie's work at

O thru T
I have been 38 for so many years that I am finally getting the hang of it. I'm from Maine, lived 20 years in Manhattan's West Village and am now a Manhattanite living in exile in suburban NJ. I live with Anton, my SO of over 30 years, and 6 cats. A lot of our energy right now is going into keeping Sweeney (bad heart, bad kidneys, high blood pressure, & hyperthyroid) going with 16 meds a day and sub-q. Fortunately we just got two 7 month old kittens (Giles aka Guy & Tori aka Victoria) which tear through the house keeping us laughing.

Anton was downsized 2 years ago and had a big-time heart attack a year ago. We never had children, but I have two brothers (Ithaca & Maine) and some super nephews and great-nephews and a great-niece. My father died recently at age 92. Most of us think it was, in part, due to the death of his companion cat Armageddon.

I have a high pressure job in marketing near Wall Street. Due to lots of downsizing and reorganization in my company, I am pretty much the last person in my field left in the company so I got to fly all over the country doing presentations. I enjoy my job and work with good people, but I assume I will be downsized next year due to more re-organizing.

I love reading (mostly mysteries: MC Beaton, Reginald Hill, Cat Who, Steven Saylor, Lyndsey Davies, Stephanie Barron, Donna Andrews, etc. as well as Sci Fi Anne McCaffrey, Jack Vance); foreign films; dragons; illustrated children's books from the early 1900's; rock & roll (Midnight Oil, Blue Oyster Cult, Stones, Peter Gabriel, Lacuna Coil, etc.); blues; Venice; Florence; & rocky seacoasts. We have travelled to CT and Chicago to see Blue Oyster Cult.

I've been fortunate enough to have met LT, Ali's Mom, Lucia, Pizza's Mom, and Sammi's Mom. They are all pretty & fun. I am hoping the Baltimore area has another reunion b/c that's not really that far away.

UPDATE:

And Remington Steele
I live in Cape Town, South Africa and I first found the Acme House of Cats  YEARS......... ago when it and the Dog Board were still all lumped together.   Some years ago I made a visit to the States and met up with a number of posters, some of whom no longer post and some who do. (i.e. Marzing, Mcat and Critter.....)

Since those days I have sadly reduced numbers of cats to only four.  They are Chui (who has a famous story for those who remember her trip from Chicago to Johannesburg!).  Arwen, my little three-leg who is presently recovering from cancer treatment, Jasmin, the old lady  - part siamese,  and Zoe - a rescue since she was 4 days old. I have also reduced to twodogs,  Scottie my little terrier mix and Bronte - my present Obedience dog.

I will be 70 in Feb 2008 and am planning a trip to the Antarctic to celebrate, I also am still very active in the dog world as a handler and a trainer.  Welcome to contact me at
