Arthur was born and died as an infant  in 1867 at Chicago, Illinois.  Arthur was the son of Frederich Kohl and Juliana Schick.
Frank Lucious was born February 23,1884 at Westcliffe, Colorado and died in 1972.  He was the son of Frederich Kohl and Juliana Schick.  He married Ellen May Thompson on February 11, 1914 at Aztec, New Mexico.  Children:  Frank Thompson, Leroy Thomas.
Frederick Emil was born September 26, 1878 at Westcliffe, Colorado and died January 23, 1963 at Salmon, Idaho.  He was the son of Frederich Kohl and Juliana Schick.  He married Precious May Neal on August 12, 1913 at Carmen, Idaho. Children:  Neal Frederick, Doris Lillian, Alice Mary, Loah Laurena, Frank John, Fred Ernest, Meade Wesley.
Frederich was born March 22, 1843 at Hessen-Darmstadt, Germany, baptized March 23, 1843 as noted in the Catholic Parish, Bislhausen, Germany,  and died August 4, 1909 at Aztec, New Mexico.  He is buried in the Aztec Cemetery in Aztec, New Mexico.  His was the son of  Philipp Kohl and Mary Magdalena Engelhardt.  Godfather was Friedrich Aruber.  He married Juliana P. Schick.  Children:  Katherine "Kate", Henery, John, Mary, Josephine, Elizabeth, Julia, Fred, Joe, Frank, Theresa.

Frederich fought in the Civil War as a Private of Captain Hugo Fredrich's Company A-13 Regiment of the Illinois Cavalry Volunteers.  He was enrolled on the 22nd day of October, 1861 to serve three  years or during the war.  He was discharged on December 30, 1864 by reason of "expiration of service" with no objection to re-enlistment known.  Said Frederich Kohl was born in Bellshausen in the State of Hanover, is twenty one years of age, five fet eight inches high, light complexion, grey eyes, light hair, and by occupation when enrolled, a Machinist.  Signed W.P. Morse (partly illegible) Commanding the Reg't.
John Philip was born August 23, 1870 and died October 9, 1890 at Westcliffe, Colorado.  He is buried at Ula Cemetery, Westcliffe, Colorado.  He was the son of Frederich Kohl and Juliana Schick.
Joseph Lewis was born July 3, 1880 at Westcliffe, Colorado and died April 23, 1942 at Aztec, New Mexico.  He was the son of Frederich Kohl and Juliana Schick.  He married Ethel Clara Bowra on February 26, 1932 at Aztec, New Mexico.
Josephine was born May 26, 1875 at Westcliffe, Colorado and died May 19, 1892 at Westcliffe, Colorado.  She is buried at Ula Cemetery at Westcliffe, Colorado.  She was the daughter of Frederich Kohl and Juliana Schick.
Julia Felicie was born May 26, 1877 at Westcliffe, Colorado and died August 20, 1934 at Durango, Colorado.  She was the daughter of Frederich Kohl and Juliana Schick.  She married Wiliam Franklin Roberts on May 30, 1901 at Westcliffe, Colorado.  Children:  Beulah Belle, Laurena Lyda, Unnamed boy, Hosmer Mathias, Sarah Stella, George Monroe.
Katherina J. "Kate" was born December 23, 1868 at Chicago, Illinois, and died November 25, 1868 at Los Angeles, California.  She is buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Englewood, California.  She was the daughter of Frederich Kohl and Juliana Schick.  She married #1 Felix J.B. Riviere.  She married #2  William Alvy BREWER.  Children with Felix Riviere:  Children with William Brewer:  female (name?), Josephine Margarette, Fred Kohl (twin), Frances (female-twin), Bert Virgil, Alvy Paul, Catherine Theresa, Chester Forest, Mary Mae.
Mary Philomina was born April 28, 1872 at Westcliffe, Colorado and died July 28, 1902 at Aztec, New Mexico.  She is buried at the Aztec Cemetery, Aztec, New Mexico.  She was the daughter of Frederich Kohl and Juliana Schick.
Philipp was born in Germany c. 1790s and died in 1850 in a cholera epidemic in Chicago, Illinois.  He married Mary Magdalena Englehardt in Germany.  Sometime around 1847 Mary died in childbirth with twins and shortly after that Philipp took their five small chidren to America.  He and the children settled in Chicago, Illinois.  Children:  Katherine, Joseph, Philip, Theresa, Frederich.  According to Juliette Thompson, Philipp had served in the German army.  "One particular incident prompted him to leave -- when he called an officer's attention to a loose shoe on the horse which the man was riding.  The officer rewarded him with a slash in the face with his whip!  It seems that he hadn't said "Sir," (or whatever protocol was required in addresssing an officer.)"  In a letter written 4/07/1864 Juliette said, "I am so proud of Great Grandfather that he had the spunk to up and leave the elite German army, even if he was called a deserter.  He is the one who got the whip."
Theresa Mary was born December 1, 1886 at Westcliffe, Colorado and died January 3, 1927 at Pagosa Springs, Colorado.  She was the daughter of Frederich Kohl and Juliana Schick.  She married Elmer Gross on June 8, 1907.  Children:  Ila Alberta 1908, Violet Thelma 1910, Mable Lucille 1917, Edith Eleanor 1921, Margaret May 1926 (died as infant).

Katherine was born in 1832? in Germany.  She was the daughter of Philipp and Theresa Kohl.  She married Joe Breunig and they had no children.
Joseph was born in 18?? in Germany.  He is the son of Philipp and Theresa Kohl.  He married Emma (?) and emigrated to the US, supposedly living in Milwaukee, Wisconson.  Children:  Laura, Frank, Walter.
Phillip was born in in Germany and died in Chicago in 1898 or 1899.  He is the son of Philipp Kohl and Mary Magdalena Englehardt.  He married Anna Schick and emigrated to the US. They settled in Chicago.  Children: Joseph, Marie, Anna, Clara.
Theresa was born in September 28, 1841 in Germany and died in August of 1916 in Salida, Colorado.  She is the daughter of Philipp and Theresa Kohl.  She emigrated to the US about 1848 and married George T. Merten.  They lived in Chicago, Illinois.  In 1870, along with her brother, Frederich Kohl, and his wife Julianna they joined the German migration westward to Colorado.  George Merten "left the family" about 1877.  Children of Thresa Kohl and George Merten:  Doris died as infant, George died as infant, Josephine Julia, Albert Theodore, Julius, Arthur, Edith, twins Paul and Edward, Katherine.  Theresa then married John Robert Ashcroft at Westcliffe, Colorado.  Children of Theresa Kohl and John Ashcroft:  Robert, James Philip, Fred, Frank Philip.
Joseph was born September 6, 1886 and died April 20, 1932.  He was the son of Philip Kohl and Anna Schick.
Marie was born November 9, 1890 and died in August of 1970.  She was the daughter of Philip Kohl and Anna Schick.  She married Peter L. Dimmer.  Children:  Paula, Roberta.
Anna was born November 5, 1892 and died December 8, 1967.  She was the daughter of Philip Kohl and Anna Schick.  She married Paul Welkisch.
Clara was born August 13, 1897 and died January 13, 1968.  She is the daughter of Philip Kohl and Anna Schick, but she was raised by her cousin Josephine Merten Blair.  She married Carl H. Bement.
Elizabeth was born in 1873? and died in infancy at Westcliffe, Colorado.  She is buried on the ranch at Westcliffe, Colorado.  She was the daughter of Frederich Kohl and Juliana Schick.

The oldest record of my Kohl ancestors is from the church records of the Catholic Parish, Bilshausen, Germany.  It notes the birth of my gg-grandfather Friedrich as follows:

"In the year eighteen hundred three and forty on the two and twentieth of March in the morning at 6:00 o'clock was born, and on the 23rd at once baptized Freidrich Kohl, legitimate son of the basketmaker Philipp Kohl, and his wife nee ... Engelhardt.  Godfather was Friedrich Aruber."

Henery was born c. 1869 at Westcliffe, Colorado.  He was the son of Frederich Kohl  and Juliana Schick.  He died shortly after birth and is buried on the ranch at Westcliffe, Colorado.
